Really well done!

Thanks Steve, turning out really well so far, with the possibility of more add ons to come and perhaps a few more members nearer the time.
It's going to be a great day, but really tough without Graham as he added so much to the last event.
I knew I should've checked with him before setting the date, I think I may be

Thanks Graham, absolutely stunning, no yellow lines / parking meters etc and policing is minimal to say the least and laid back at best.
Almost like another world...lol

Hi all, I've made up some "Dashboard info" documents as attached

I'll be making these up with all details added for everyone, these to be included in your welcome pack received on arrival

Still to be determined, but these should include an SNG Barratt bag filled with....
Literature / leaflets for Prestige Jaguar
Literature / leaflets for Mackies Transmissions
Literature / leaflets for SNG Barratt
Forum decals for car / locker / toolbox etc
Forum "dashboard info" doc, this to be placed on dashboard in plain sight, then any member can see who the car belongs to ( at individuals discretion of course)
* Possibly pens etc from SNG Barratt ( still to be determined)
* possibly pens / keyrings from ZF Transmission courtesy of Mackies ( still to be determined )
Name badges - these to include forum username and actual name, at users discretion but an ideal tool so that everyone can get to know each other and be instantly recognisable.

And or others...

SNG Barratt: Have very kindly offered a £25.00 gift voucher for their massive range of parts available, not forgetting their superb parts catalogues made available free for members. They have also added one of their SNG Barratt branded umbrellas, ideal for any Jag. www.sngbarratt.com

Today, I've ordered the raffle books as we're going to have several prizes to give away, we're very fortunate.
At the moment we have at least 4 raffle prizes but with a little luck and some further generosity we may have yet more to come.

The intention is roughly as follows....Each prize will be raffled off at a cost of £1 per ticket and then drawn, with further similar raffles to follow

Every ticket purchased will then be put into a final raffle and all funds will be split into another 2 winning tickets, approx 70/30
There should be several lucky winners on the day!!

A recurring theme from the last event with around 35 attendees was trying to remember everyone's name, maybe it was just me, I'm not sure.
With so many members, from so many forums to remember I think name badges are the order of the day.

I have them ordered and will write them up prior to the meet to be handed out to one and all.
Please believe me, it's not my favourite thing to do and the last thing I want to do is treat anyone like they're 5 years old, but it is for the benefit of all In the long run.
Of course they won't be compulsory but I hope that everyone will take it in good part and help those with failing memories...lol

I hope to have forum decals available for those that want them.
I also hope to have goodie bags c/w with various company literature advising of products / services available as well as perhaps pens, keyrings etc
The forum banner will be available for group pictures and signings, see foot of page. More to follow.......

I'm wondering about anyone that's travelling a significant distance, we certainly have one member "Guardian" who is travelling from Berkshire, looking to make a weekend of it.

I know there's other's that may be coming from Durham, Carlisle, Aberdeen and other far flung locations.

A local premier Inn is around £60 per night if I'm not mistaken ( perhaps less if booked in advance? )
Throw in breakfast / dinner etc you could be looking at around £90 or so at a rough estimate.

I checked with a booking service I used to use some time ago and find as follows...

There are a few 3 star and 4 star hotels in the area with leisure facilities and more, prices coming back at around £40 - £60 per person per night including DINNER, BED AND BREAKFAST.....full use of the leisure facilities etc included.

If anyone has any interest and would like more details of for me to check further, please simply shoot me a pm or text / call me

Thanks
Jim

And or others.....

SPONSORS UPDATE:
Mackie's Transmissions: The only A1 rated ZF GB supplier / remanufacturer in Scotland has very kindly donated a "FREE transmission service voucher" with a £300.00 value
Several members of both this and the UK forum, including myself have used Mackies with excellent results. www.mackie-transmission.com
This will be raffled off on the day with proceeds going back into the pot for a prize draw. See the last visit to Mackie's here LINK
SNG Barratt: Have very kindly offered a £25.00 gift voucher for their massive range of parts available, not forgetting their superb parts catalogues made available free for members. They have also added one of their SNG Barratt branded umbrellas, ideal for any Jag. www.sngbarratt.com
Prestige Jaguar: The guys at Prestige Jaguar have very kindly donated 2 prizes for the day
Prize 1 - A FREE service worth £120.00
Prize 2 - A FREE 4 wheel alignment worth £65.00
Dougie, Ian and Jim of Prestige are hopefully coming along on the day too! www.prestigejaguar.com
Taggarts Jaguar - Speaking to the nice people at Taggarts in Glasgow, they've very kindly agreed to send along a brand new Jaguar XE for the day!
This will be available to view and a salesman available to answer any questions etc. Thank you Taggarts. www.taggarts.glasgow.jaguar.co.uk

Great work so far in organising things Jim. You've clearly got a flair for it!

Do you want us to fill out & print off the Dashboard Info sheets ourselves? I'm happy for you to put my real name on mine. Bet you can't guess what it is!!!

Hi Giles, thanks for the post and kudos......I'm down to the last 99 things to do so we're getting there...lol

The dashboard info sheets - I've already made these up and printed them off to bring along on the day for any / all to use.
These, like the name badges hopefully will be used but are down to individuals discretion of course, we're all adults.

I do hope that most / all take this for what it is and do use them, it'll help others greatly to identify both each other as forum members / individuals and also each other vehicles.

If mine is dirty on the day, I'll leave mine off I think

Whether you are in the south or the north of the UK we have a great meet for you to attend this summer.. so why not put yourself down and come along?

Jim has put a stackload of work into the Scottish event with loads of great things going on, on the day, and I like to think I am almost matching what Jim is managing, with the south UK event :-)

If you go to either event you are in with a great chance at some fantastic prizes, a chance to look over, or even book a test drive in the new Jaguar XE, and so much more - so go on, you and your car deserve a day out, a chance to meet all the people you know from the forums, and that perfect excuse to clean and polish your car to within an inch of it's life :-)

And what's more it is all free for you.. you can't lose - a great day out and on a budget that really can't be beaten - so go on why not put yourself forward for one of them?

I'm beginning to wonder if I should start charging for this event?

As good as the numbers are, still a little low based on EVERYTHING that's available
Perhaps a £10 fee for the day??

Did I mention that the whole day, the meet event, the organisation, prizes donated by sponsors, the new XE on the day available to view, goody gift bags and perhaps yet still MORE to come......is FREE!!

So far we have.....

There could in the end be as many as 5 or 6 really good prizes to be raffled off, looking for £1 per ticket entry.
The total money raised will then be divided up into a 70/30 split roughly with proceeds being raffles off to entrants winning cash on the day!!

ALL FOR FREE

As you can all see, space is getting limited to say the least on the banner

Steve and I have came up with a plan.

Steve will use a GREEN marker for his meet event, then we will use a RED marker for ours, should fill it out nicely with another 100+ signatures.
