SPONSORS UPDATE:
Mackie's Transmissions: The only A1 rated ZF GB supplier / remanufacturer in Scotland has very kindly donated a "FREE transmission service voucher" with a £300.00 value
Several members of both this and the UK forum, including myself have used Mackies with excellent results. www.mackie-transmission.com
This will be raffled off on the day with proceeds going back into the pot for a prize draw. See the last visit to Mackie's here LINK
SNG Barratt: Have very kindly offered a £25.00 gift voucher for their massive range of parts available, not forgetting their superb parts catalogues made available free for members. They have also added one of their SNG Barratt branded umbrellas, ideal for any Jag. www.sngbarratt.com
Prestige Jaguar: The guys at Prestige Jaguar have very kindly donated 2 prizes for the day
Prize 1 - A FREE service worth £120.00
Prize 2 - A FREE 4 wheel alignment worth £65.00
Dougie, Ian and Jim of Prestige are hopefully coming along on the day too! www.prestigejaguar.com
Taggarts Jaguar - Speaking to the nice people at Taggarts in Glasgow, they've very kindly agreed to send along a brand new Jaguar XE for the day!
This will be available to view and a salesman available to answer any questions etc. Thank you Taggarts. www.taggarts.glasgow.jaguar.co.uk

Today, I've ordered the raffle books as we're going to have several prizes to give away, we're very fortunate.
At the moment we have at least 4 raffle prizes but with a little luck and some further generosity we may have yet more to come.

The intention is roughly as follows....Each prize will be raffled off at a cost of £1 per ticket and then drawn, with further similar raffles to follow

Every ticket purchased will then be put into a final raffle and all funds will be split into another 2 winning tickets, approx 70/30
There should be several lucky winners on the day!!

A recurring theme from the last event with around 35 attendees was trying to remember everyone's name, maybe it was just me, I'm not sure.
With so many members, from so many forums to remember I think name badges are the order of the day.

I have them ordered and will write them up prior to the meet to be handed out to one and all.
Please believe me, it's not my favourite thing to do and the last thing I want to do is treat anyone like they're 5 years old, but it is for the benefit of all In the long run.
Of course they won't be compulsory but I hope that everyone will take it in good part and help those with failing memories...lol

I hope to have forum decals available for those that want them.
I also hope to have goodie bags c/w with various company literature advising of products / services available as well as perhaps pens, keyrings etc
The forum banner will be available for group pictures and signings, see foot of page. More to follow.......

Thanks Graham

Yes I agree, a real shame you won't be able to make it on the day ( down to my poor planning ) I'm sorry to say.

You and your car, organising skills and camera will all be missed on the day

Hi Jim,
You are doing a great job and I'm sure it is well appreciated by all those interested in the day.
Thanks very much for all your efforts.
Studying the list we are up to 4 S-Types and & 7 X-Types plus a very good mix of other interesting models. So anyone out there with an S or X, come on and join the list to help swell the S&X Type numbers.
As matter of interest Jim, is there a limit on the group size for the visit to the Distillery.
Regards,
InverStype (Telfer)

Thanks Telfer, appreciate the kind words

Certainly be good to get more S / X type, in fact more of everything would be good, maybe some classics too?

Limit on the group size for the distillery?
Unsure what you mean Telfer, limit on the group size to the distillery for the meet event on the day, or for groups wanting to take the tour?

Assuming its about the meet event on the day, I've not been advised of any restrictions, so the more the merrier I'd say.

Note - If numbers stay at this level though, or perhaps increase I may suggest that we use the overflow car park. The main car park only has 50 spaces and we'd fill it out for any tour buses etc that may visit solely for the distillery.

We'll play that by ear as we go

Dougie, Ian and Jim of Prestige are hopefully coming along on the day too! www.prestigejaguar.com
Taggarts Jaguar - Speaking to the nice people at Taggarts in Glasgow, they've very kindly agreed to send along a brand new Jaguar XE for the day!
This will be available to view and a salesman available to answer any questions etc. Thank you Taggarts. www.taggarts.glasgow.jaguar.co.uk
GlenTurret Distillery - Tours of the distillery showing the processes including 2 whisky tastings are available ( obviously for non drivers ) see attached documents for info on times and pricing

Rough Itinery for the day.

Please note this is just for reference purposes and to give an idea of what to expect on the day and may be subject to change.

Meet at Stirling services anywhere between 8.30 - 9.00am, the earlier the better. This will be a brief chance to chat whilst awaiting arrival of others.
Ideally I'd like to hand out the welcome packs " gift packs at that time as many as is possible.
The welcome packs are likely to include as follows.
Each individual members "dashboard info" doc ( see attached ) and also name badge for the day, this will help everyone to get acquainted quickly and easily, also a good tool for those of us with failing memories..lol
Hopefully there will also be forum decals, possibly pens and keyrings etc as well as useful literature / leaflets from those generous companies sponsoring the event.

Leave Stirling services as close to 9am as possible for the drive to Glen Turret, should take around 30- 40 mins meaning we'll arrive around 09.45am and get the cars parked up.
We can all have a chat / catch up get to know you session ( nice and friendly and informal ) in and around the distillery which opens around 10am
There should possibly be tea / coffee available and perhaps late breakfast for those that want to take advantage. The food is excellent and pricing reasonable

10.45 - 11.00 am approx. - Around this time it might be a good opportunity to introduce Taggarts employee with the new XE. I'm sure there'll be plenty of opportunity to view the car inside n out and ask any questions, perhaps express any interest and or arrange for future test drives.

During this time I will be making everyone aware of the fantastic raffle prizes we have available, to date.....

There may be others to add shortly, so watch this space!!

Although the whole event / day is FREE for everyone, I intend to ask anyone that's interested to pay £1 per raffle ticket for each prize they're interested in.
ALL funds, which could be considerable will then be added together and everyone who entered will gain entry to a final FREE draw, with 2 winners, total prize fund split around 70/30 so giving someone a nice cash sum. This will perhaps pay for their fuel for the day!
Some considerable time will be taken to gather all / any raffle tickets and work out the draw, this to take place later.

GlenTurret Distillery - Tours of the distillery showing the processes including 2 whisky tastings are available ( obviously for non drivers ) see attached documents for info on times and pricing
Basic tours take around 1 hour and start around 10.30 am I believe.

Around 12.00 - 12.30 pm we can make the draws for the various raffles, announcing the winners and handing out prizes won and a chance to thanks the sponsors for their help in making this event FREE for all.

1pm approx. - Forum banner will be made available for signing for everyone for posterity. We hope to get a group picture of everyone there BEHIND the banner this time...lol

I'd encourage everyone to take as many pics and or videos of the day as possible for posting into the forum thread for all to see later.

As near to 1pm as possible, exit the distillery and take the scenic loch side drive along Loch earn up to Lochearnhead, cut back on the A84 towards Callander and ultimately Stirling and disperse from there.

Here's hoping for sunshine, looking forward to a great day

IB have very graciously agreed to part fund some of the costs for the day, thank you so much IB!

With this in mind I have contacted Wild Thyme ( the catering hosts for Glen Turret ) and arranged for tea / coffee & shortbread for around 80 people on the day, all FREE!

Further, Wild Thyme have agreed to lay on hot bacon rolls from their servery counter from around 10am - 11am, excellent food reasonably priced.

The ambience and surroundings are warm, friendly and welcoming. I do hope you take advantage of this offer.

We'll play that by ear as we go
Hi Jim,
My query regarding the numbers was whether the Distillery could cope with a large turnout from the Forum plus handling their normal visitor volume. No problem as such, just wondered how they would cope with a large Jaguar contingent with me not having been to the venue before.
As you say the more the merrier
Regards,
Telfer.

Regards,
Telfer.

Should be fine Telfer, they actually have several forum events there in the past.
Around 2 years ago I attended a VWAudi forum meet with around 82 cars.

I don't think it's likely that we'll all be inside at any given point in time, you know how these things work, some have coffee / breakfast and or lunch, some may elect to take the tour whilst many others mingle around outside and discuss all things Jaguar and or view the cars.

Thanks Telfer

Best
Jim

During this time I will be making everyone aware of the fantastic raffle prizes we have available, to date.....

As above under SPONSORS UPDATE!

Another note of thanks for all your hard work Jim. Would it be possible for you to highlight new information in your posts? I worry I might be missing something amongst all the detail.

My +1 is now a +0, as he's been called to another event at school. I think I'll take my leave of the group prior to the driving session, so that I can get to the school thing that my +1 is going to.
