3 weeks and 6 days to go to the meet event at Crieff, countdown mode has begun lol.

I'm sure there'll be plenty of mods / add ons / washing / polishing and waxing going on between now and then!

I'll continue to update the threads from time to time and will send group texts nearer the time to confirm everything.
Looking forward to the day, should be fun.

Please note this is just for reference purposes and to give an idea of what to expect on the day and may be subject to change.

Meet at Stirling services anywhere between 8.30 - 9.00am, the earlier the better. This will be a brief chance to chat whilst awaiting arrival of others.

Ideally I'd like to hand out the welcome packs " gift packs at that time as many as is possible.
The welcome packs are likely to include as follows.
Each individual members "dashboard info" doc ( see attached ) and also name badge for the day, this will help everyone to get acquainted quickly and easily, also a good tool for those of us with failing memories..lol
Hopefully there will also be forum decals, possibly pens and keyrings etc as well as useful literature / leaflets from those generous companies sponsoring the event.

Leave Stirling services as close to 9am as possible for the drive to Glen Turret, should take around 30- 40 mins meaning we'll arrive around 09.45am and get the cars parked up.

During this time I will be making everyone aware of the fantastic raffle prizes we have available, to date.....

As above under SPONSORS UPDATE!

Although the whole event / day is FREE for everyone, I intend to ask anyone that's interested to pay £1 per raffle ticket for each prize they're interested in.
ALL funds, which could be considerable will then be added together and everyone who entered will gain entry to a final FREE draw, with 2 winners, total prize fund split around 70/30 so giving someone a nice cash sum. This will perhaps pay for their fuel for the day!
Some considerable time will be taken to gather all / any raffle tickets and work out the draw, this to take place later.

GlenTurret Distillery - Tours of the distillery showing the processes including 2 whisky tastings are available ( obviously for non drivers ) see attached documents for info on times and pricing
Basic tours take around 1 hour and start around 10.30 am I believe.

JoseAberdeen - The day itself is FREE, no pennies, none, nada, Zilch.

Just whatever it costs to get you there and back, which is plenty.

You may be asked to dip into your pocket for some of the raffle prizes on offer, but that choice is totally down to you!

Best
Jim

I'm sure there'll be plenty of mods / add ons / washing / polishing and waxing going on between now and then!

I'll continue to update the threads from time to time and will send group texts nearer the time to confirm everything.
Looking forward to the day, should be fun.
OMG, do I have to polish the car?

Lol, of course it isn't mandatory for anyone with less than 100 posts, anything over that and it must be "out the box" clean...lol

Its personal preference of course, in between trying to do just about everything necessary to make it the best day possible, I hope to be able to at least wash n dry mine the day before and maybe another coat of PB Blackhole if I get half a chance.

Rough Itinery for the day.

As above under SPONSORS UPDATE!
!!!!There may be others to add shortly, so watch this space!!!!

Although the whole event / day is FREE for everyone, I intend to ask anyone that's interested to pay £1 per raffle ticket for each prize they're interested in.

Around 12.00 - 12.30 pm we can make the draws for the various raffles, announcing the winners and handing out prizes won and a chance to thanks the sponsors for their help in making this event FREE for all.
1pm approx. - Forum banner will be made available for signing for everyone for posterity. We hope to get a group picture of everyone there BEHIND the banner this time...lol

Hey JG....I think they'll be driving them up ( not 100% sure tbh )
However, they're going straight there to set up early, so may be there from around 9am - 9.30 I guess
Have a little pop up gazebo I think too and will do a quick talk on them....

The ambience and surroundings are warm, friendly and welcoming. I do hope you take advantage of this offer

Rough Itinery for the day.

We can all have a chat / catch up get to know you session ( nice and friendly and informal ) in and around the distillery which opens around 10am
There should possibly be tea / coffee available and perhaps late breakfast for those that want to take advantage. The food is excellent and pricing reasonable

10.45 - 11.00 am approx. - Around this time it might be a good opportunity to introduce Taggarts employee with the new XE. I'm sure there'll be plenty of opportunity to view the car inside n out and ask any questions, perhaps express any interest and or arrange for future test drives.
During this time I will be making everyone aware of the fantastic raffle prizes we have available, to date.....

As above under SPONSORS UPDATE!
!!!!There may be others to add shortly, so watch this space!!!!

Although the whole event / day is FREE for everyone, I intend to ask anyone that's interested to pay £1 per raffle ticket for each prize they're interested in.

I'd encourage everyone to take as many pics and or videos of the day as possible for posting into the forum thread for all to see later.

As near to 1pm as possible, exit the distillery and take the scenic loch side drive along Loch earn up to Lochearnhead, cut back on the A84 towards Callander and ultimately Stirling and disperse from there.
Here's hoping for sunshine, looking forward to a great day

So, proving that anyone can do any amount of work provided it is not the work he is supposed to be doing at the time, I've done a model analysis of attendees:

XK: 13
  • X100: 11
  • X150: 2
F Type: 1 (not including the one coming from Taggarts')

S Type: 8 (including 1 S Type R)

XF: 9
  • XF: 5
  • XF-R: 2
  • XF-S: 2
XJS: 2

X Type: 9

XJ: 18
  • X308: 8
  • x358: 3
  • X350: 5
  • X351: 2

Please forgive me if I've got any of this wrong. There's potential for some generation-ambiguity in some of the XK model designations as written in Jim's excellent list.

Sponsor UPDATE - 15.05.15

Mr Tint Glasgow have very kindly offered a £120 rear window tint voucher for the event, superb!!
This can either be for the rear windows or towards a full tint as may be required.

AND......
Had a chat with David Manners today and they're also contributing to the event.
Early days, but looks like a £30 voucher, sweatshirt and polo neck short and perhaps a Connolly leather care feed!!

I'll update the full listing shortly, but just wanted to share
