Thermo to London Sep 7/8

Jim, bah, sleep is for when you are dead. On Sunday, I will have possibly been up for 36 hours or so as I will most likely have worken up on Saturday morning and not seen any real sleep until midnight Sunday. Giving you a hard time. This brings me back to my Navy days where 48 hour days were not uncommon and catching a 30 minute power nap did wonders.

santer, they are going door to door, literally. They are picking me up at my house, driving me to the airport here, picking me up at the other end and shuttling me where i need to be for all the events and then driving me back to the airport to fly me home and then driving me back to my house. I am waiting to see what vehicle they pick me up in.
Now Now Jim, would I do that? (evil sailor grin). What kind of person do you think I am. He he he he he he.

Hey guys, here's something for you.
Jaguarforums / IB have very kindly said that they will offer to buy a round of drinks for anyone that shows up for the "mini meet" event if its doable.
If Chris can pay for the round and keep the receipt, submit to Jaguarforums / IB on his return to be reimbursed

Hi Guys... sorry I have literally *just* tuned into this.. and yes I would love a chance to meet up with you Thermo.. put a face to the name.. but work commitments prevent me from taking a day off currently, and even for me its a bit of a hike with the M25 (London circular motorway) traffic often at a standstill :-( (One day I'll win the lotto and become a Jaguar amabasador fulltime lol).. but if you get a chance and might be down Gatwick way (I know - fat chance sigh :-) )*please* get in touch - p.m. me and I'll pass you my contact info - would be good to meet if we can

Steve, keep an eye open. I am thinking that later on Sunday night (possibly earlier on Sunday afternoon there may be a break to have a get together. I have also been told that if we do a meet up, a round of drinks has already been paid for. If it helps, it is sounding like we are staying at London Edition Hotel Berners Street. Looks like some nice rooms. That may give you an idea of where we are going to be in London. Not sure how that may relate to where you are living. If you know of any good places near there for a few drinks and to do some chatting, pass on the info.

Ah, so they've put you in the middle of the West End, not out near Earls Court. The hotel address is 10 Berners Street, London W1T 3NP; it's just off Oxford St., & not far from Tottenham Court Road. Those are major shopping streets, if you need retail therapy. I used to work about 100 yards away, but that was 25 years ago so my local knowledge is rusty.
The main restaurant/bar in the hotel is Berners Tavern, and gets some pretty good ratings on Yelp, though (despite the name) it does seem to focus on the restaurant side rather than the bar side. There's also a 'reservations-only' cocktail bar called the Punch Room, which sounds a bit pretentious/posh, and a Lobby Bar. Details Here: Restaurants & Bars
Elsewhere, there's a good traditional pub called The Blue Posts around the corner at 81 Newman St. On the other side, the Adam & Eve at 77A Wells St was a nice gothic-themed pub when it was Ben Crouch's Tavern, and it's apparently still good but more mainstream.

Just kidding.....that would be a big technical achievement!
Not kidding is that I an also going! I was selected by another forum. Seems like Jaguar wants to spread the word, not just among current Jaguar fans, but among others, too. It may be working. I an very excited about seeing the XE! Might even buy one.

I can't see Jaguar arranging a high profile launch and then restricting photography!

All, trust me, i plan on taking a lot of pics. I have a decent telephoto lens just in case. Never know what might be needed. I am waiting on a detailed list of events from the two people I have been working with so I can arrange a time that those in London already can meet up with BM3 and myself for a "round on the house" (I have been told that I am to buy a round for those that show up for the meet and greet and it will be paid for at a later time).
