That's exactly what I plan to do! Follow me on Twitter @MeAndMyWagen for up to the minute photos. I expect to report on Monday evening's unveiling no later than Monday night (September 8th), which could be early afternoon in California. Even sooner if the event has free wifi. (Unfortunately, my phone plan charges a lousy $2/MB of data, should have gotten a consumer T-Mobile plan where data is free, internationally, as long as you travel only occasionally). Fortunately, the hotel has free wifi so photos when I an back in the hotel, at the latest.

Any update on the time for meeting at the Hotel, and if it isn't up to our standard of dress will me go to the nearest pub?

well all, I just got a list of times and places that they are expecting us to be. There will be some time Sunday afternoon (say 1 to 5 PM) and then there will be most of Monday itself (the first event is at 1730 where we are picking up the bus to the event). The rest of Monday night is booked. Then when it comes to Tuesday, most of that day has already been booked and pretty much from the time we wake up till we hit the airport, there is something going on.

So, if you can think of something to do in the open times, let me know. I am game for whatever I can do. The Sunday afternoon bit may have me getting their a little later than 1 PM as I am not leaving the airport till about noon or so. So, keep that in mind.

It is looking like we are getting a reveal of the car Monday night and then Tuesday we are getting the "dealer presentation" of the new car. Monday night should be lots of pictures, but the dealer presentation will have no photographs taken during it. The data for this is "too sensitive". So, guess my photographic mind is going to have to come into play for this. There is a good reason why I passed all my nuclear reactor lessons. he he he he he.

Well, I'm free on Monday, but I suspect santer may not be, and thus far I haven't heard from anyone else who's near enough to make it to London. Which is rather sad - I'd apologise on behalf of the Brits, but I'm not even British.

On Sunday afternoon, I'll be watching the Italian Grand Prix from 1PM until about 3PM (obsessive F1 fanatic), but could head over after that - say 3:30? But happy to meet on Monday if that sounds a bit rushed.

Have a nice time over here; we have arranged decent weather especially for you!
If you are around the Oxford area on Saturday morning and fancy a boat trip (aka waterside pub crawl) let me know.

Why don't we plan for say Noon on Monday and then we can go from there. If there is some place near the Edition Hotel (where myself and BM3 are staying), put that down on the list and we will meet up there.

Steve, unfortunately, I will still be in the States on Saturday morning. So, it is a pass on the boat ride (granted, I am acustom to boats of another sort, SUBMARINES!!!!!!)

For those interested, you can watch the events via the web on the Market Selector website starting at 7:45PM (London time, aka, 2:45 PM EST). They will be broadcasting the show that way too. who knows. You may see BM3 and myself on the net. Then if you tune in at 9:30 PM (London time, aka 4:30 PM EST), you can hear the new "Feel XE" song by Emile Sandz.

OK, noon on Monday it is. As I noted earlier, there are a couple of decent pubs nearby if the hotel looks too up-market for us peasants

It is looking like the show is going to be a car show none the less. Here is a list of the cars that they are planning on having there:

a. 1938 SS100 - The first Jaguar car, and an answer to the underpowered
SS90, this car reached the era’s mystical 100 MPH mark.
b. 1950 Jaguar XK120 - Jaguar’s first truly sporting car. As it’s name
reflected, the We won’t give it all away but we wouldn’t want you to
miss anything flying over London.
c. XK120 street car could still reach 120 MPH.
d. 1953 Jaguar C-Type - The “C” stands for XK120 "competition" model,
and compete it did. It won the coveted “24 Hours of Le Mans” twice.
e. 1956 Jaguar D-Type - This car won Le Mans 3 times and is the
spiritual grandfather of the F-TYPE Project 7. See the family
resemblance?
f. 1967 Jaguar MK II - The mantra of “grace, pace and space” prompted
it's popularity as a getaway car of the era.
g. 1961 Jaguar E Type - By defeating competitors in both speed and
style, the XKE is regarded by many as the most beautiful car in history.
h. 1966 Jaguar XJ13 - This prototype was built to win on the track but
never got a chance to prove itself due to racing rule changes.
i. 1969 Jaguar XJ6 - This carried the same size and performance of the
earlier Mark II “saloons” but with all new and enduring style.
j. 1983 TWR XJS - This was the Tom Walkinshaw Racing Jaguar that
brought Jaguar cars back to track competition after a lengthy hiatus.
k. 1988 XJR 9LM - This sports-prototype race car debuted at the 1988
24 Hours of Daytona, where it earned Jaguar the overall win.

They are also looking at having a slew of MK II's leading the XE into Earl's Court. So, you may want to be outside to see the parade of Jags coming into the site.

Quite a line up!

Elton's party yesterday was described as "Summer Chic" so maybe my Austin pic wasn't so far off the mark.

OK guys and gals. I got a better itinerary for what all is happening here. It is looking like noon on MOnday is a no go. They have us doing an advance design meeting in the morning and into the early afternoon. But, we should be returning to the hotel by 3:15pm and then I will have about 2 hours before I will have to be ready to head to Earl's Court.

Option 2 is to meet up say Tuesday morning. The whole morning is to myself and I just have to be at the hotel at 1:15PM to catch the ride back to the airport to go home.

Not sure which way we want to jump with this. But, trying to keep everyone aware of what the schedule is looking like for me and David (aka, BM3).

Well, I could do either.

I have an appointment in Harley St., which is only half a mile away, at 18:00 tomorrow, so meeting you at (say) 15:30 would be fine. That would give us an hour & a half or three quarters before you head off. Since both santer and rickgordon (from the UK forum) are available on Monday, I think this is likely to be the best option, provided they're OK with the later start.

On Tuesday I'm driving up to Birmingham for a 13:00 meeting; it's a 2-hour trip, and I'd need to leave your area about 10:45 to allow a bit of leeway. If I left home at 9 to miss rush-hour, I'd be with you by 9:30-ish. That would only give us an hour & a quarter, and i'm not sure if santer is available - I'm pretty sure Rick won't be, since his attendance was based on a trip he has to make to London tomorrow. Also: a bit early for drinking!

Both OK but Monday seems better as no early start involved

OK, sounds like tomorrow is the best bet - I've left a PM on the UK forum for Rick, who was going to try & join us (another X-type owner), and I've sent a text to Chris. No response as yet; I'm wondering if his phone actually works here. If I hear nowt and he doesn't pop up on here, I'll try calling him tomorrow at the hotel.
