Welcome to the 2016 Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet

This event will be taking place on 29th May 2016 - with the main venue being Madiera Drive on the Brighton seafront as usual.

It is a Jaguar EXCLUSIVE event! This year I have been working on gaining much more industry support than previously, more prizes, freebies, discounts, even specialists on siote to chat to.. hopefully ensuring that everyone has a fantastic Jaguar day to remember!

The initial meeting point will be Pease Pottage Services, with an indoor area set aside for us and 20% discount on anything from Costa (remember to say you are with the JaguarForums.com event to get your discount) to help get your day started.

The Welcome Packs will be handed out at this point, and the main features of the day covered.

There will then be a convoy down to the Brighton seafront, creating a huge Jaguar statement with up to 100 cars, all setting up camp in one huge parking block in Madiera Drive.

There will be a fixed price breakfast laid on for attendees on arrival in Brighton, at a cost of £4.99 for the recommended (two of everything :-)) breakfast, plus drinks at individual prices or £2.60 for unlimited drinks. We are booked in the Harvester in Madiera Drive - remember to say you are with the JaguarForums.com event when ordering.

The only other cost for the day is the parking which is likely to be £3.20 for one hour, £5.20 for 2 hours, £10.40 for 4 hours or £15.60 for 11 hours (Brighton Council are reviewing the rates in April though ).

CaptainHam has suggested setting up & using the pay by phone parking app on your phone prior to the day (saves fishing around in pockets for change, or in this case, notes)

Our itinerary for the day is:

07:45 Sharp
Meet at Pease Pottage Services for Welcome Packs and a quick rundown of the day. remember we have an indoor area set saside for us and to get your 20% discount on Costa products by saying you are with the JaguarForums.com event!

08:20 Depart in convoy from Pease Pottage Services for Madiera Drive, Brighton

09:00-10:00 We are booked into the Madiera Harvester for breakfast - they recommend the two of everything for £4.99 plus drinks - remember to state you are with the JaguarForums.com event as they are setting an area aside for us.

10:00 -12:30 General socialising, car inspections, & meet the industry specialists we have onsite.

12:30 Group signing of event banner and photo shoots for the forums, Twitter and Facebook.

12:45 Main prize draw, drawn by Tony from Harwoods Jaguar

12:55 Secondary draw of some specialist items, drawn by the RevsUK team.

13:00 Rowan & Tony will announce the winner of 'Best Turned Out Jaguar'

Just a quick update - I know I have been quiet and it seems that nothing much is happening but there is a steady trickle of items, brochures etc all coming in from our sponsors.

Some surprises in store for everyone, and some sponsors I will need to make contact with to see if I can chase up things.

I am still working heavily with our Twitter account advertising our sponsors and pushing for potential attendees to sign up.

The timetable is that all sponsorship items/brochures etc will likely be with me by the end of March, which will give me April to 'stocktake' and chase anything oustanding..

Beginning of May I will likely be trying to tie down the logistics of who is doing what, where and so on, confirming parking costs, venues with the numbers we then have, and printing up the last of the paperwork with the remainder of May organising the Welcome Packs, and various prizes for the day.. prizes we have done really, really well on this year compared to last year!! Many many thanks to our event sponsors for this

Just ten weeks to go - and looking back over the past six months or so that we have been working on this years event it's incredible what we have managed..

Our event has no financial support in yet we have created the largest Brighton Convoy & Meet to-date, and an event of a size that matches smaller paid entry events :-)

Previous event's (being smaller than this years event) were generally organised and run by just me with the help of our fantastic sponsors. However this years event has a fantastic team of people behind it and it has really shown in the results of what we have managed.

Looking back we have more sponsors, bigger, better, and more numerous free prizes, we now have not one official venue but two, we even have more discounts that we are able to advertise for everyone for longer than ever before.

We now have a Twitter following which includes some big industry names, some great Facebook friends, more Jaguars signed up from around the UK, even a group coming across from the Netherlands for our event.

A huge thankyou to everyone that has got involved in our event, making this genuinely the biggest Brighton event we have ever managed! My thanks go to all our event sponsors, with special thanks to our event team of Stephen *** from CarSnapped for agreeing to be the official event photographer, PaulJag and his family for helping with attendees on the day, Rowan Lill for supplying our support vehicle and event logistics on the day, Tony from Harwoods for supplying showroom cars and his dealership knowledge, Kevin from The Automatic Gearbox Centre for his huge knowledge of tramsmissions, the Ultimo Lubricants team for their huge knowledge about what lubricants our cars need, the RevsUK team for coming along to record the event, and even WeLoveBrighton.com coming along :-)

And we aren't quite finished yet :-) I am still waiting on a couple of potential sponsors that may want to get involved, and two surprise attendees I am still hoping I can persuade to come along :-)

This event is what we make it, and we make it for us.. and it turns out we make great events! Thankyou once again to everyone - sponsors, supporters, & attendees for getting us where we are with just ten weeks to go!
