Ok just a very brief update so you guys know roughly where we are with things so far...

A few things to sort yet including some new facilities with this years event.. Our fifth Brighton event to-date, and the one that sets the bar for next years event :-)

I believe (still yet to be confirmed) each car will likely have not one or two but four goodie bags to work through, & a chance at any one of fourteen prizes ranging from money off vouchers, to Goodwood Revival Tickets, to mugs, cleaning kits, workshop manuals and so much more.

We have five companies onsite to meet attendees, discounted early morning drinks, fixed price breakfast deal, and to top it all the judged 'Best Turned Out Jag 2016' award to be judged by Tony from Harwoods Jaguar (for his Jaguar knowledge) and Rowan Lill (considered to be an independant judge)....

And still I am on the case lol :-)

Welcome to the 2016 Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet

This event will be taking place on 29th May 2016 - with the main venue being Madiera Drive on the Brighton seafront as usual.

It is a Jaguar EXCLUSIVE event! This year I have been working on gaining much more industry support than previously, more prizes, freebies, discounts, even specialists on site to chat to.. hopefully ensuring that everyone has a fantastic Jaguar day to remember!

The initial meeting point will be Pease Pottage Services, with an indoor area set aside for us and 20% discount on anything from Costa (remember to say you are with the JaguarForums.com event to get your discount) to help get your day started.

The Welcome Packs will be handed out at this point, and the main features of the day covered.

There will then be a convoy down to the Brighton seafront, creating a huge Jaguar statement with up to 100 cars, all setting up camp in one huge parking block in Madiera Drive.

There will be a fixed price breakfast laid on for attendees on arrival in Brighton, at a cost of £4.99 for the recommended (two of everything :-)) breakfast, plus drinks at individual prices or £2.60 for unlimited drinks. We are booked in the Harvester in Madiera Drive - remember to say you are with the JaguarForums.com event when ordering.

The only other cost for the day is the parking which is set to be £3.20 for one hour, £6.00 for 2 hours, £11.00 for 4 hours or £16.00 for 11 hours.

CaptainHam has suggested setting up & using the pay by phone parking app on your phone prior to the day (saves fishing around in pockets for change, or in this case, notes)

Grin.. This year I think we have hit the 'hump'.. for the first time ever we are very close to being oversubscribed, with this event being the biggest we have organised to date!

We have gone from 7 cars to 100 in two and a half years, from no sponsors to 16, from two reps on site to 5.. and as for prizes, goodies, discounts etc we have done really well this year.

Unless anything changes significantly, this years format and size will be the format for our future events :-) We are there, for the moment at least lol

But, to be honest, this years event is not just down to me.. our sponsors have been incredibly helpful and forthcoming with support and donations, and this years event is supported by a team of people.. PaulJag and his family, Rowan Lill, Steve from CarSnapped, the Reps that are coming onsite from companies, our advertising partners, our accomodation partner.. just to mention a few.. without them we would not have the annual event we now have, or even keep the event free for attendees.

And then we have everyone who has signed up to attend on the day - without you guys it would just be me and tumbleweed on the day .. I am very proud, happy and grateful for everyones efforts, support and encouragement - helping make this truly an event by US, FOR us :-)

This year (with thanks to PaulJag for the idea) we are implementing a 'Don't miss a thing!' texting service on the day.. I am hoping this will work well for everyone.

As you will know from the itinerary, quite a bit is going on, on the day, and it is going to be easy to miss any number of the things going on whilst you are busy chatting, catching up, and getting that solution to any of a number of car issues you may have... I am possibly the worst culprit for this in our previous events lol

So this year we are implementing a 'Don't miss a thing' service. If you drop me a line at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk with your name & mobile number for the day, we will ensure you get text reminders just before any events on our day ensuring you don't miss a thing!

Its free, and the numbers/names will only be used for reminders on the day - not released to anyone for any other purpose.

So why not guarantee you don't miss a thing on the day, with our 'Don't Miss a thing' Texting service :-) ?

Just a quick update for you on things..

With 81 Jaguars now signed up we are only 19 from the magic number of 100 vehicles!

I am still waiting on some items to come in from two sponsors, but we still have a few weeks yet :-)

Our new 'Don't Miss a Thing' texting service is steadily gaining subscribers, which is great.

I am still in very early discussions with a charity organisation, hoping we can link our event to them, and not only have a great day out but also support some fantastic charities - as soon as I know more on this I will let you know :-)

If you are involved with our event in an organisational way - ie are an industry attendee, sponsor, or part of the team on the day I will be getting in touch with you with more details at the start of May :-)

Meanwhile please keep an eye on this thread as we approach the day, as I still have a few things on the go for us :-)

Our itinerary for the day is:

07:45 Sharp
Meet at Pease Pottage Services for Welcome Packs and a quick rundown of the day. remember we have an indoor area set saside for us and to get your 20% discount on Costa products by saying you are with the JaguarForums.com event!

08:20 Depart in convoy from Pease Pottage Services for Madiera Drive, Brighton

09:00-10:00 We are booked into the Madiera Harvester for breakfast - they recommend the two of everything for £4.99 plus drinks - remember to state you are with the JaguarForums.com event as they are setting an area aside for us.

10:00 -12:30 General socialising, car inspections, & meet the industry specialists we have onsite.

12:30 Group signing of event banner and photo shoots for the forums, Twitter and Facebook.

12:45 Main prize draw, drawn by Tony from Harwoods Jaguar

12:55 Secondary draw of some specialist items, drawn by the RevsUK team.

13:00 Rowan & Tony will announce the winner of 'Best Turned Out Jaguar'

Plus, if you want to make a weekend of it, we have teamed up with HolidayInn Express in Crawley and have a fixed discounted rate of £54 a night for attendees, plus guaranteed availability of rooms for us :-) please see their details below, or follow this link HolidayInn Express Crawley. Just remember to quote that you are with the 'JaguarForums.com' event to get guaranteed availability and the fixed discounted rate of £54 a night.

Additionally we have also arranged the following discount codes for event attendees:

Wax On Wax Off is offering event attendees a huge 20% off their entire product range! Just log on to Wo Wo online, have a browse through their great range and use the checkout code of 'JAG20' for any purchases.

We have discounted event accomodation at Holiday Inn Express Crawley (literally 6 min drive from our start point) just quote 'JaguarForum.com event' to get a fixed rate of £54 per room/night and to give you a great night before, or after the event.

Prestige Car Care is offering all attendees a 10% discount on their entire product range which includes some superb car cleaning products - to take advantage of this great offer go to Featured Products - Prestige Car Care Shop and use the checkout code 'jags' to get your event attendee discount!

And Scratchshield.co.uk can help you keep your car scratch free for our event with a huge 25% discount using the checkout code ' JAGBRI16'

Additionally, starting this year, we have a new FREE service for attendees - the 'Don't Miss a Thing' texting service :-) If you drop me a line with your name & mobile number before the day we will ensure that you get a text just before any event on the day, such as banner signing, prize draws, winners of judged contests etc.. just drop a line to JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk if you would like to guarantee you miss nothing on the day..

If you would like to sign up for this event please just pop a post on the thread inc how many will likely be coming, and car details, and I will add you in, noting you can join just the main event, or the event and convoy. If you prefer, you are also very welcome to sign up by dropping a line to JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk :-)

AndyB123 is looking to see if anyone wants to meet up on the nights before or after the event - if there is enough interest I can supply a couple of recommended pubs in the immediate area depending on how many and what you want..

OK guys, just so you know how the land lies with things, here is a quick update on things for you, as they stand mid day on Monday :-)

We now have 85 Jaguars signed up.

140 people will be attending.

We have Jaguars representing production from 1954 through to 2016.

I have stopped looking for sponsors for this years event :-)

I wanted to get a charity onboard, but am out of time at my end to do so, but am hoping to talk to them more before next years event and get something organised.

Our event is very close to being oversubscribed, so as of this morning I have requested some additional supplies from our sponsors to ensure everyone gets goodie bags, samples, info etc.

Don't forget to subscribe to our free 'Don't Miss a Thing' texting service for the day, to alert you to all the activities on the day as it goes, ensuring you don't miss a thing. Just email or pm me your name and (UK) mobile number & I will add you to the service.

As always we have a packed day ahead of us - I hope you enjoy everything we have managed to pull together for the day, and I look forward to meeting everyone :-)
