Welcome to the 2017 Annual Convoy & Meet Event

This FREE event will be taking place on Sunday 28th May 2017 - with the main venue being Denbies Wine Estate, near Dorking.

It is a Jaguar EXCLUSIVE event! This year things are set to be even bigger and better than ever before with more cars (we now have a ceiling of 400 vehicles), more sponsors (with some able to perform work on site for you!), more prizes to be won on the day, and our annual award of the prestigeous 'JaguarForums.com Best Turned Out Jaguar' award up for grabs again!

The initial meeting point will be Pease Pottage Services with a quick Welcome speech and your free Welcome Packs handed out.

There will then be a convoy through winding country roads, with gorgeous scenery, from Pease Pottage to our new venue at Denbies Wine Estate. It will be the first time these roads will have ever seen this number of Jaguars passing through, and will set the tone for our arrival at Denbies, where we will have a grassed, enclosed area set aside exclusively for us for the day.

Denbies will be laying on a breakfast for us upon arrival. The options being: Full English breakfast with Tea or Coffee & Orange juice £8.25, a Bacon or Sausage Buttie £3.50, and a Bacon or Sausage Buttie with Egg £4.75. Please note that there will also be 10% discount vouchers available to attendees to reduce these prices :-)

As you know we like to try to work with our sponsors to keep your Jaguar costs low... and we are pleased to say we have arranged the following discount codes (so far) for event attendees, which will be active from now until our event:

Prestige Car Care is offering all attendees a 10% discount on their entire product range which includes some superb car cleaning products - to take advantage of this great offer go to Featured Products - Prestige Car Care Shop and use the checkout code 'jags' to get your event attendee discount!

Scratchshield.co.uk can help you keep your car scratch free for our event with a huge 25% discount using the checkout code ' JAGBRI16/17'

Additionally, following on from last year, we have the FREE service for attendees - the 'Don't Miss a Thing' texting service :-) If you drop me a line with your name & mobile number before the day we will ensure that you get a text just before any event on the day, such as banner signing, prize draws, winners of judged contests etc.. just drop a line to JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk if you would like to guarantee you miss nothing on the day..

Plus, if you want to make a weekend of it, we have teamed up with HolidayInn Express in Crawley and have a fixed discounted rate of £65 a night for attendees, plus guaranteed availability of rooms for us :-) please see their details below, or follow this link HolidayInn Express Crawley. Just remember to quote that you are with the 'JaguarForums.com' event to get guaranteed availability and the fixed discounted rate of £65 a night.

If you would like to sign up for this event please just pop a post on the thread inc how many will likely be coming, and car details, and I will add you in. If you prefer, you are also very welcome to sign up by dropping a line to JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk :-)

OK guys, time for a progress report so you know where we are with things. I am feeling the pressure somewhat as I am very aware that whilst 80 days until our event sounds like a long time it really isn't from an organisational perspective.

I am starting to receive deliveries of items for the event from advertisers and sponsors, so will hopefully have a good idea of who I need to check back in with by the end of the month.

The numbers for our event are starting to climb again with 77 Jaguars and 135 people signed up so far. It would be great to hit our target of 200 Jaguars though, so please spread the word about our free Jaguar event and let's see if we can make 200 for the day.

I am still looking for any rare or unusual Jaguars out there that may be available to attend, but have to admit it's taken a back seat a little as I try to pull everything into place in time.

It does also seem that I have just missed out again on locating & procuring an XJ220 and a couple of other rare/unusual Jaguars for our event.. apologies but I got closer than ever this year, but fell short of the owners' requirements.

We do urgently need two or three people happy to marshall everyone into place at the main venue, Denbies, plus another two or three people to help with the event registration and Welcome Pack distribution at the start of the event - and I have checked and there is no way everything will fit in my backup car the C1 lol so any help with that would be really appreciated too. You can email me via JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk or get hold of me via a forum thread, our Facebook page, or Twitter account.

We have five confirmed companies who will be setting up trade stands/sites/gazebos on the day offering everything from advice, to products, to work done onsite, and bookings.

Denbies are aware of the numbers, but still concerned I do not yet have a wet weather plan - this is one of a few issues I have yet to find a solution to.

We will now have a shield to be won by the 'Best Turned Out Jag', which is great but raises the logistics of keeping track of it between events and ensuring it comes back each year.. again something I am thinking on.

I am about to finalise the suggested convoy/drive route and get them printed up for the Welcome Packs, and then will start work on the Welcome letter that usually comes with the Welcome Packs.

That is where we stand currently - quite a bit is in progress, some of the things planned haven't panned out, but we still have an incredible free event open to all Jaguar owners :-)

Anyone wanting to sign up please just drop me an email, post on one of our forum theads, our Facebook page, or our Twitter feed and you will be added in, equally if you know anyone with a Jaguar plesase make them aware of our event - and if they have no Jaguar they are still very welcome to visit our event and join in the fun as a visitor :-)

It is almost the weekend, and our event is developing well.

We are almost halfway to our target of 200 Jaguars for 2017, our 'Best Turned out Jag' award now has a sponsor, and a new shield to be won, and I have started collating everything from our incredible event sponsors.

We already have specialist companies setting up trade stands, full dealership support courtesy of Harwoods Jaguar, an incredible venue, the most scenic convoy to-date, and so much more to ensure we have a great Jaguar day.

Just so you know where we are to-date:

We have 77 Jaguuars and 135 people signed up
Our event Facebook page now has 206 friends
Our event Twitter feed has 372 people, companies, and events following it
We have 18 official event sponsors of which 5 have signed up for trade stands on the day
We have an official event accomodation supplier
Plus two advertising partners :-)

If you are not yet signed up (its free!) you are risking missing a great Jaguar day out - and if you have already signed up I believe we have a fantastic day all booked up for you with great cars, fantastic company, things for everyone to do, great scenery, prize draws and more :-)

I still have yet to finalise the prize layout for the prize draws, and judged competitions, on the day but so far have taken delivery of 20 prizes for the day, with more to follow over the next few weeks, making our prize draws and competitions THE draws and competitions to be in!!

So go on, why not sign up for our event? A great convoy/drive, prestigeous main event location, great food, drink and spectacular company with up to 200 Jaguars and 300 people.. and a number of chances at winning great prizes on the day on top of everything that comes free in your Welcome Pack on the day.

Remember our Jaguar event is free to signup for and attend with just a small charge for tickets for the main prize draw - it's great for the whole family, and won't empty your wallet!!

Denbies are laying on wine tasting sessions, and winery tours for those family members less interested in Jaguars, and there will of course be award winning wines etc for sale there too. We will have access to the restaurants onsite as well, with 10% discount vouchers too :-)

Specialists will be onsite too demonstrating products, offering free advice, taking bookings, and products available at show prices!

All this makes our event one for all the family so why not sign up for our event and come along.

Even if you do not have a Jaguar yourself, or want to know more about this incredible British marque, or just fancy a great day out - just come along on the day and join in everything that is going on :-)

To sign up, or for more info, just email JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk, pop a post on one of our forum threads, tweet us at @JFBrightonMeets, or post a message to us at www. facebook.com/JaguarForumsUK

OK Guys I have just taken delivery of the prize for the 'Peoples Choice' Jaguar on the day! NextBase have been kind enough to donate a brand new 412GW Professional In Car Cam + 32Gb memory card for this award!! Many thanks to them for this.

On the day you will get the opportunity to vote on which attending car is your choice to win this superb prize (noting you cannot vote for your own Jaguar! :-))

Just a reminder of our itinerary for the day :-)

Itinerary for our Annual Jaguar Convoy & Meet (2017)

9:30am Starting point of event at Pease Pottage Services for event registration, with Welcome Packs handed out, and Welcome speech.

10:15am Depart for our main venue, Denbies Wine Estate.

11:00am Our Jaguars should be parking up, and everyone heading off for breakfast, noting the costs are listed in the main forum thread.

2:30pm Main Prize draw for a number of great Jaguar orientated prizes, noting there will be a small charge for tickets for this.

3:00pm A second free Prize Draw for a Dinitrol Corrosion Treatment and Protection Pack for your Jaguar.

3:15pm Presentation of the judged award for the 'Best Turned Out Jag - 2017', & the voted for 'Peoples Choice' award.

3:30pm Group photo shoots and final summary speech prior to the end of our day.

Please note that in addition to socialising, checking over our Jaguars and meeting the companies joining us on the day, Denbies are also laying on tours of the wine estate, and wine tasting experiences for us. These additional features will be charged for by Denbies, but do represent a great chance to learn about this, the largest wine estate in England, and their award winning wines.

OK The convoy/drive route planning has been completed, and printed up!

We have two recommended routes, instead of the usual one and only route.

In your Welcome Pack you will find a recommended route which is scenic but keeps you on main roads, and is recommended for those of you wishing to cruise to the main venue.

There is also a limited number of copies available on request on the day of a more advanced route which takes you on side roads through villages and some gorgeous scenery. The route is more complex, contains very few straight roads but is a great drive.

I really hope you enjoy the convoy/drive element this year :-)

Steve... is the 'advanced route' very low-car friendly?

The advanced route is good quality B roads with a narrow humpbacked bridge 2/3 of the way through, with A roads for the last 4 miles. The roads are quite windy and go through a number of scenic villages, farmland, and forestry. The advanced route is the route I used to use for a commute from Crawley to Bookham on a daily basis. There are no speed humps and the roads are fine for a low slung car - the only note of caution is you need to be alert as a lot of twists and turns to catch you out.

Anyone wanting to take the advanced route - please ask me on the day as I have a limited number of copies of it for those that want it.

Incidentally I am on a roll here and have just finished formulating how people are voting for the 'Peoples Choice' Award on the day. Each car will have a unique Jaguar Attendee Number included in the Welcome Pack. Place this on your dashboard in plain sight, and anyone wanting to vote for your car just lets me know what number they are voting for.. and subject to the numbers at the end of the day you can take ownership of the great Dash Cam NextBase have been kind enough to donate :-)

We are doing well - in fact much better than any previous event we have run :-)

We have not one convoy/drive route, but two - both through incredible Sussex & Surrey scenery.

We have an incredible new venue in Denbies Wine Estate - we will have the Bacchus field allocated to us with plenty of space for our increased numbers.

You can win, win bigger, and with more chances to win this year with the prizes still coming in but already including everything from hats and mugs, to vouchers, manuals, cleaning systems and so much more.

Even if you don't win with the main prize draw you can enter the Dinitrol draw for a DIY Corrosion prevention and treatment kit for your Jaguar.

On top of this we have a shield to be won for 'Best Turned Out Jag' as judgd by Tony from Harwoods Jaguar

PLUS a NextBase DashCam with GPS & WiFi to be won by the 'Peoples Choice' Jaguar, as voted for by everyone attending on the day.

Add to this not five but now SIX specialists setting up trade stands onsite with free advice, product demonstrations, products at show prices and even bookings taken for any work you would like done.

We will have banner signing, group photos, shots of all the winners and more PLUS Steve from CarSnapped will be taking shots of all the cars on the day giving you the chance to order a fantastic photo of your car at a great show price from him.

Add to all this the incredible Denbies Wine Estate as our main venue with wine tastings, and tours available, great food and drink, award winning wines to purchase and more, and you have our 2017 Jaguar Event!

We offer you more than many ticket entry only events, so go on, sign up for our event and guarantee yourself, your family and your Jaguar a great day out with fantastic company this May.

You must be thinking of the old Land Rover adverts.

Perhaps this is Steve's 'route 3' option.

LOL.. That is reserved for next year if we can get more all wheel drive Jaguars involved :-) Good idea though Graham I'll add that to the options I have in mind for the 2018 event :-)

Meanwhile just to let everyone know I have just taken delivery of the Bag-World.co voucher for the prize draw.. this company specialises in supplying beautiful tailor made bespoke luggage that exactly fits the boot of your Jaguar, all in the materials and colours you specify - even with the Jaguar logo. The voucher is for £75 off any luggage ordered from them.. and is just one of the many Jaguar orientated prizes we have in our prize draw - one of many reasons we have for you to come to our event and join in our great Jaguar day :-)

Also today I have just taken delivery of over £100 of Jaguar workshop manuals from Haynes, for our prize draw - yet another great incentive to sign up for our great Jaguar event :-)

If you have signed up for our event already you are guaranteed a great day out - bigger and better than ever - if not, please consider signing up - we have plenty of room for everyone at our new venue and we would love you to come along.

Equally, if you are ( like me currently ) Jaguarless, or are considering purchasing a Jaguar, or just interested in this great British marque please just come along on the day - your car cannot join our event as such, but you are very welcome to join in the activities on the day, and meet the cars, their owners and a number of specialists all of whom know Jaguars well.

This year we honestly have the largest free Annual Jaguar Convoy & Meet event we have ever run. Everything is bigger and better, be it the convoy route choices, the size of main venue, the facilities we have onsite, the companies with trade stands, the number of judged/voted for awards, the quantity and value of sponsorship, and even the number of attendees.. all made possible by you the attendees and our incredible event sponsors. Thankyou one and all for enabling our event to get to where it is this year :-)

I can genuinely say that if you have not yet signed you, your family and your Jaguar up for this event you will be missing out on the best ever event we have run - so go on why not sign up? It's free to sign up for and to attend and easy to sign up for..

You can pop a post on one of our forum threads, email us at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk, tweet us at @JFBrightonMeets, or even pop a message up on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/JaguarForumsUK with your Jaguar model, year of production, and how many people travelling and you will be added in, often within a day :-)

Welcome to the 2017 Annual Convoy & Meet Event

This FREE event will be taking place on Sunday 28th May 2017 - with the main venue being Denbies Wine Estate, near Dorking.

It is a Jaguar EXCLUSIVE event! This year things are set to be even bigger and better than ever before with more cars (we now have a ceiling of 300 vehicles), more sponsors (with some able to perform work on site for you!), more prizes to be won on the day, and our annual award of the prestigeous 'JaguarForums.com Best Turned Out Jaguar' award up for grabs again PLUS the new award of 'Peoples Choice'!
