Welcome to our JaguarForums Annual Convoy & Meet event for 2018!

Further to the success of our previous events, we have an incredible Jaguar exclusive event for you in May 2018!

This will be on Sunday 27th of May this year. We will be starting at Pease Pottage Services with a slightly earlier start time than the last event, & we will have a larger more airy room set aside exclusively for us on the day. There will be the obligatory welcome speech running through the features of our day, and free Welcome Packs distributed to get you in the mood for the day, plus event registration :-).

We will then have a scenic convoy through gorgeous Sussex and Surrey countryside to our main venue, with a mixture of main & country roads to our main venue Denbies Wine Estate.

At Denbies we will have a new layout for our event with a central area reserved for presentations and displays during the day. We will have trade stands onsite with great show deals, and a vast pool of Jaguar knowledge for you to quiz. In addition we will have a huge prize draw, and a number of awards to be made including the prestigious 'Best Turned Out Jag' award sponsored by Scratchshield to be passed from our 2017 winner to the new winner :-)

Add to this, superb company, over 60 years of Jaguar production spread across as many models as we can manage and you have our event :-) It is a great day out for everyone in itself but add to that what the largest wine estate in England has to offer (tours, tastings, great food, wine etc) and you have an incredible day out.

There will be free Welcome packs, samples, offers, discounts and all the usual things you would expect with a ticketed event, but this event is free! (except for a small charge for the main prize draw)

Please consider signing up, and penciling our event into your diary - the more people that sign up, the more we can organise with our event sponsors making this a win win situation for us :-) It is free to sign up for, and you are under no obligation so go on, just let us know your name/online alias, Jaguar model, year of production or reg, and how many people will likely be travelling in total and we'll do the rest :-) It is genuinely that easy to sign up for.

OK, I have started making contact with our current sponsors and supporters (about 30% through so far) and should have some updates and fine tuning of our event to come over the next few days.

I have also made fresh contact with some sponsors we have not worked with for a year or two, and re-enquired with some who felt unable to support us for any of a number of reasons after previously doing so.

Please keep an eye on this space for the latest info as I go :-)

Welcome to our 2018 event Timbo :-) As you will have seen I am still working away on things for the day but it does promise to be the biggest event we have run so far - celebrating our 5th year :-) I hope you enjoy the day.

As you will be aware I have been getting in touch with our event sponsors and supporters this week - to touch base, check that they are happy working with us, and make any last adjustments to what level of involvement they are happy to commit to with the event two months away.

In general the feedback has been very positive, with our sponsors even more keen than ever to connect with us, support us, and most importantly help you look after your Jaguar - be it washing, polishing, maintaining, repairing, servicing or even upgrading it.

I should have the final itinerary online next week for you, and will then be concentrating on getting the Welcome Packs completed, prizes and awards in and triple checking everything before the day.

If you have already signed up for our event - you genuinely have a great day booked and for anyone who has yet to sign up for our free Jaguar day out please please sign up sooner rather than later :-)

OK, it's a Friday and just 65 days to go until our 2018 event :-)

The paperwork for the convoy element, and dashboard voting sheets are done, with the itinerary, and layout to go online next week hopefully.

I have been round everyone supporting or sponsoring our event, and have received feedback from most of them, with just a few I am still waiting to hear back from. The feedback has been generally positive but due to commercial commitments we have lost one sponsor and one award for this year (but we can hopefully get them back for 2019).

I have also been in touch with our venues to triple check all is OK and to see if we can gain any discounts this year, and am currently waiting to hear back from them - I will chase them up next week if need be.

The prizes for the prize draw should all be arriving over the next three weeks - and if our sponsors are true to their word we have some great prizes available for you guys this year - bearing in mind that this year has been tough due to some companies cutting back on outgoings like ourselves.

Currently we have:

116 Attendees signed up
64 Jaguars spanning 55 years
17 event sponsors
We will have 7 trade stands on the day
We have 4 Presentations on the day for you
4 Awards are up for grabs
Our event Facebook page has 236 friends
Our event Twitter feed now has 534 followers
Our event Instagram account has 63 followers
and our forum threads have received over 21,900 hits to-date

We have a great day ahead of us, and everything is on schedule (so far, touch wood lol) so pleasee if you haven't signed up yet please do - and sooner rather than later ideally as numbers of attendees has an effect on how many of everything I need to make sure I get in :-)

Have a great Jaguar weekend!

Currently I can confirm the following:

Another quick update for you - A huge thankyou goes out to Soraya at DesignCats who has very kindly agreed to marshall at the start of our main event at Denbies.

Please note that Soraya will need your support on the day if we are to acheive the layout and central presentation area we need, so please park as she asks you - I am aware it may split some groups that have travelled together but aside from parking we will all be able to mix freely during the day anyway.. :-)

OK, not one of my finer moments, as I am not a graphics designer and our show, as you know has no budget :-)

However, here is the initial layout concept for the day - A horseshoe layout whilst great would prove difficult to setup exactly as we want, so for this year at least this simpler design will do the job for us.

I have incorporated some very basic year ranges which will make it possible to walk through Jaguars history and make it easier to track down Jaguar models of interest, simpler photo shoots of the cars, and a great backdrop for a group shot on the day of all the attendees on the day (forward planning :-)) as we have not had a group shot of attendees for a year or two now.

Please feedback any thoughts for improvements, any and all constructive comments can then be fed back into this to improve it for our 2018 event.

I have also started checking out the long range weather forecast on Accuweather and we are hopefully looking at 20 degrees, so warm but not too hot and sunshine for our day.

Incidentally the first packages have arrived from Haynes Manuals, PVD Approved, and Adrian Flux Massive thanks to them for their support.

Lot's more to come yet as well - your Welcome Packs, and Prize Draw prizes are going to be great this year

Between the Welcome Packs, Awards, and Prizes you and your Jaguars should be well looked after on the day - add to these the presentation slots, trade stands and more, and we have a great Jaguar day out for everyone on our Fifth anniversary

Just to quickly update you - Harwoods Jaguar have just agreed to supply some fantastic prizes for the prize draw on the day that I think you will enjoy.

I will hopefully be getting the event stats up online tomorrow for everyone (our event had grown quite a bit since last week) and then be taking 4 days off for Easter before the final few weeks of getting print runs done (now I have the itinerary etc finalised), getting everything in from our incredible sponsors, Welcome Packs assembled and prize draw prizes organised.

Huge thanks to everyone who has signed up for our event as without you we wouldn't have an event, just an open field, me and tumbleweed :-) and to our incredible event sponsors making if possible to run this event free for everyone :-)
