Welcome to our JaguarForums Annual Convoy & Meet event for 2018!

Further to the success of our previous events, we have an incredible Jaguar exclusive event for you in May 2018!

This will be on Sunday 27th of May this year. We will be starting at Pease Pottage Services with a slightly earlier start time than the last event, & we will have a larger more airy room set aside exclusively for us on the day. There will be the obligatory welcome speech running through the features of our day, and free Welcome Packs distributed to get you in the mood for the day, plus event registration :-).

We will then have a scenic convoy through gorgeous Sussex and Surrey countryside to our main venue, with a mixture of main & country roads to our main venue Denbies Wine Estate.

At Denbies we will have a new layout for our event with a central area reserved for presentations and displays during the day. We will have trade stands onsite with great show deals, and a vast pool of Jaguar knowledge for you to quiz. In addition we will have a huge prize draw, and a number of awards to be made including the prestigious 'Best Turned Out Jag' award sponsored by Scratchshield to be passed from our 2017 winner to the new winner :-)

Add to this, superb company, over 60 years of Jaguar production spread across as many models as we can manage and you have our event :-) It is a great day out for everyone in itself but add to that what the largest wine estate in England has to offer (tours, tastings, great food, wine etc) and you have an incredible day out.

There will be free Welcome packs, samples, offers, discounts and all the usual things you would expect with a ticketed event, but this event is free! (except for a small charge for the main prize draw)

Please consider signing up, and penciling our event into your diary - the more people that sign up, the more we can organise with our event sponsors making this a win win situation for us :-) It is free to sign up for, and you are under no obligation so go on, just let us know your name/online alias, Jaguar model, year of production or reg, and how many people will likely be travelling in total and we'll do the rest :-) It is genuinely that easy to sign up for.

Currently I can confirm the following:

Ok, we have just 59 days until our 2018 JaguarForums Convoy & Meet, and it's almost a Friday, so time for a summary of where we are so far:

I haven't had any response from our venues - but with Easter weekend upon us they are quite likely busy - but I will follow up with them next week.

Packages have started to arrive for the event, and should continue to do so for the first couple of weeks in April and then I will start work on assembling the Welcome Packs, Prize draw items and so on.

With the itinerary finalised, and the layout organised I can now get the Itinerary, Layout & Welcome letter print runs done.

Our numbers have continued to increase this week, and we are hopefully on target for 100 or so Jaguars on the day, which would be fantastic.

OK, time for some figures so you can see how we are doing so far....

We currently have 69 Jaguars and 128 attendees signed up
Our event Facebook page has 241 friends
Our event Twitter feed has 533 followers and seems to be stable
Our Instagram account now has 63 followers
Our forum threads have received over 24,200 hits
We have 17 event sponsors
There will be 4 Presentation slots on the day
We have 4 awards for various classes of Jaguar
In between all that you will have 7 trade stands to check out :-)

Considering you now know my artistry skills are quite limited :-) Here is an example of my maths for you :-) Here is a breakdown of the models and years of the attending Jaguars we have so far:

Jaguar models (noting I have not split generations):

Daimler Sovereign x 1
Daimler Coupe x 1

XF R x 4
XF S x 2
XJ x 11
XJ R x 6
XJS x 2

Ok guys, a couple of minor updates for you regarding our event..

As you may have guessed from the last post, Pease Pottage Services have agreed to the 'usual' 20% discount on Costa products for us, despite a change in the management team there, which is great.

Also I have finalised the launch location for the convoy element just 2 mins drive from Pease Pottage, and on the way to Denbies - full information to follow as soon as I get a chance to pull up a map of it - this will mean we will all be seeing much more of each other on the way to our main venue :-)

I have not heard anything further from Denbies and will be chasing them later this week for my final triple check :-)

Just a quick update..

The print runs for the Welcome Packs have just been completed, cut, sorted and stapled.

Simply Performance have just given me final confirmation that they will be running a trade stand at our event.

And the final news item is that this year it looks like we will have a columnist from Classic Motor Monthly attending, with his classic Mark II, hopefully writing an article about our event which will be fantastic.

OK, all good news, and on schedule so far, I am really happy to say :-)

If you haven't signed up for our event, please consider doing so as we have a great Jaguar day ahead of us!!

You will no doubt be aware that NextBase, sponsors our 'Peoples Choice' award have had to drop out due to commercial commitments, and as a result we have had to cancel this popular award for 2018.

Since then, Mark Lambourne has very kindly come forward and has offered to take over sponsorship of this popular award. Huge thanks to him for this.

So, please make sure you vote on the day for the 'Peoples Choice' award - the voting sheets will be on the JaguarForums stand (OK our tressle table lol) and may the best Jaguar win!

I have just spoken to Grant Ford, who will be attending with his gorgeous classic 1965 Mk II.

He will actually be with us in his official capacity as columnist for Classic Motor Monthly, and will be writing an article about our 2018 event. Please join me in making him feel welcome on the day.

I have just been in touch with Denbies to triple check our booking as I had not heard back from them further to my email before Easter, and everything is confirmed with them :-) We will definitely be in the Bachus field again, and Denbies will be in touch with me later today or tomorrow regarding breakfast timings, and I am hoping (fingers crossed) for a discount for attendees eating there.. I will update you all as soon as I know more :-)

OK it's a Friday and just 51 days until our event and I know some of you will be looking for the stats on how we are doing :-) So here are the figures so far:

Our forum threads have received almost 25,500 hits
Our event Facebook page has 242 friends
Our Twitter feed has 538 followers
Our Instagram account is becoming more popular with 66 followers now
We currently have 71 Jaguars spanning over 50 years and 131 attendees signed up
We have 17 incredible sponsors
We will have 7 trade stands on site at Denbies
There will be four Presentation slots (new this year) teaching you about detailing, leather care, leather repair, and the latest Jaguar models.
We now have 5 awards available for your Jaguar to win
We have a growing pile of incredible prizes you could win in the prize draw on the day

In addition to this we will have a columnist (Grant Ford) from Classic Motor Monthly with us this year writing an article about our event, and also new this year we will have a rolling start to the convoy element to make more of a visual impact whilst we travel from our start point to our main venue.

I have also been keeping an eye on the long range weather forecast and it now says the temperature should be 17 degrees, overcast but still dry - I will keep monitoring it for us.

OK guys, lots has been going on regarding our event and everything in the way of goodie bags and contents, and some incredible prizes for the prize draw, are all on their way in.

Our sponsors have been very generous and my home is starting to shrink as it does before every event.

We have quality champagne, workshop manuals for some incredible Jaguar models, a two course meal at the Kennels, a £100 voucher, wash kits, t-shirts and more all assembling for the prize draw as I type, plus more yet to be finalised. All to be won on the day. A massive thankyou to everyone sponsoring our event and making our Jaguar day possible.

I will be making a start on assembling the Welcome Packs for the event not this weekend, but next weekend, by which time I will hopefully have everything through for them.

We have just 47 days to go until the event, so please, if you have not signed up yet for our free Jaguar event please consider doing so - we have a great day for you - and if you have already signed up you have a great day to come with great cars, company, venues, awards, prizes, even our new presentation slots and more trade stands than ever.

Thankyou to everyone - attendees and sponsors, for making our event what it is - a great Jaguar day out for everyone!

Did you know our Jaguar event started as just 6 Jaguars five years ago?

Now it is accepted as part of the motoring event calendar drawing typically 100 or so Jaguars, spanning 50 or more years of Jaguar production.

It has always been free, and always will be (fingers crossed) just requiring attendees to sign up for it before the day.

This year is it's fifth anniversary and we have pulled out all the stops to celebrate :-)

We have free Welcome Packs, samples, freebies, discounts, trade stands, presentation slots teaching you the tricks of the trade and helping you maintain your Jaguar, full dealership support, and even a prize draw with an incredible array of Jaguar orientated goodies for you.

OK, you have to assume a free meal at The Kennels Goodwood, and champagne are Jaguar orientated prizes - but we also have T-shirts, Wash Kits, £100 parts voucher, Haynes manuals for incredible and rare Jaguars, with lots more yet to be added to the prize fund by our incredible sponsors.

We have specialists in upgrades, parts, leather care, car care, valeting & detailing, independent Jaguar servicing & repairs, & even full dealership support all onsite to meet you and answer all your questions about your Jaguar and it's care..

Add all this to a convoy/drive element through Sussex & Surrey countryside, an incredible main venue at Denbies Wine Estate, great company, incredible Jaguars, fantastic food and drink available and you have our event in a nutshell (OK so it's a huge nutshell, I admit it).

So go on, treat yourself and your Jag to a great day out this May and sign up for our free event.. did I mention it's absolutely free to sign up for and attend? The only costs on the day (and having kids I know how important this is to families) are the food/drink and prize draw tickets on the day - that is it - no other costs at all for anything else on the day..

You can sign up by posting on one of our forum threads, our Facebook page (JaguarForumsUK), our Twitter account (@JFBrightonMeets), or old fashioned email (JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk) - we just need your name, Jaguar model, year of manufacture, and how many people will likely be travelling.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:28 PM.
