I have just had the final confirmation from Brighton & Hove Highways Dept that the pier end of Madiera Drive will definately be open on the day despite the far end being closed off for another event.. but we definately need to set up there quite early on the day before the public/tourists start occupying the parking slots.. I will try to fine tune the time of start to give us the best chance, and will start enquiries about maybe closing the road for our event next year to ensure we have all the parking and space we need.

as its a bank holiday weekend do you think 9-00 9-15 leaving the services is early enough to get a parking monopoly on the fronts available spaces?

Steve,

It's getting close so I've added a countdown timer to my Signature.

Good numbers attending. Despite your earlier plea, the 1960's era model owners are still proving elusive!

I will have a hard and fast schedule nearer the time. It is a real trade off between spaces and people getting up early on the day... I am happy for an 08:00 meet and 08:20 departure if the majority are agreeable on the day which would reduce the 'gamble factor' on trying to get a parking block. I am also hoping for more info from Harwoods on Monday as well which will help set the schedule for the day. Anyone unable to make 08:00 on the day?

I'm still plugging away at the classic owners and am hopeful we can cover more years at the meet :-)

OK 8am it is.. I agree :-)

I'll be updating the list of attendees tomorrow and will hopefully have some info on the Jaguar dealerships timings for the day..

Last week I was chasing the Brighton Argus to see if they could attend and maybe do a panel or two on us... I am hoping for some feedback on that next week.

During the week I'll also try to find out the exact costings if we were to close the road for next year and make the meet more of an official event.. Just need to cross my fingers and see if maybe Jaguar can sponsor us for it.. Yes I know I'm ahead of myself grin... But if they can help I would very much appreciate it:-) I have already made contact with their sponsorship manager so am hoping.....

By next weekend I should have all the details of the day online for everyone... Meanwhile I'll keep you guys in touch with anything else I can manage for the day.

Unbelievable amount of time, energy and effort you've put into this Steve!

I'd just like to say a huge "THANKS" on behalf of all, as I'm sure it'll be a great day.

Less than 2 weeks now so it won't be long in coming round...

I'm just *hoping* all goes well :-) I am hoping to hear from Harwood Jaguar today with their timings etc.. and I have added trying to get a discount at the cafe to my list - as every little helps :-) *And* over the weekend, not my best work, but I managed to get an additional ad up on Gumtree - probably won't be seen by many but currently all and any publicity helps our case for *trying* to get Jaguar sponsorship for next year grin

Best bet is 8am for the convoy meet then 8:45am for the main meet.. amongst other things the cafes etc there don't open until 10am.. and I'm trying to tie things in so we are not there too long before the local dealership is there with us.. :-)
