Hi Guys,

I know it isn't a Friday but there is so much going on with our event - too much to be honest lol but so far I am managing to keep up to one degree or another.

Our event Facebook page has gone, by my standards at least, viral with almost 3,500 people following us from all around the globe.. with around 30-50 new people a day friending our event from all around the planet.

Our event patron Frank Woodford MBE is currently looking into our tenth anniversary event in 2021 and a possible, maybe even regal upscale of venue for it to make our anniversary event the showstopper we would all love.. more info to come when I have it

I have taken the plunge and have moved our event website from JaguarForumsUK - The Great British Day Out for Jaguar Owners to JaguarForumsUK - The Great British Day Out for Jaguar Owners, and the event email addresses to info@JaguarForumsUK.com and Stephen.Sheldon@JaguarForumsUK.com - that is going to save sooo many discussions about why we are at JaguarForumsUK - The Great British Day Out for Jaguar Owners :-)

Our events Twitter account now has an incredible 600 followers

I am currently playing voicemail ping pong with an automotive magazine that is interested in our event - more info on that if they & I ever get beyond missed calls.

Additionally I am working on gaining event sponsors, and have taken a new tack of not just specialist suppliers of services and parts, but also companies associated with Jaguar, by depending on Jaguars for their businesses.

On top of all this I believe we may have a free engine diagnostic clinic on site at our next event, with bookings being taken a month or so before our event, and I am still (struggling) to come up with posters and signage designs for the event. I would love to say that I have an artist struggling to get out of me, but it is genuinely quite the reverse lol

In amongst all this our event is genuinely retaining it's grassroots experience for you, and still considers ALL Jaguars equal whether you have a cherished classic, a showroom condition, a project you are in progress with, or a commute or school run Jaguar :-)

And of course don't forget if you have attended one of our previous events, or are signed up already for our next one we have the free Christmas competition coming up in a few months for you.. full info to follow closer to the time :-)

If anyone had said to me seven years ago, this is where we would be now, I would have happily bet that there was no way it could take over my life, and have so many people involved ever! lol.. nonetheless, if you have not attended one of our events before please check it out and sign up, and if you have been to our events before - we are set to be bigger, smoother and so much better than ever in 2020 - new streamlined event registration online, new drive/convoy management system (sounds posh - but yep we do have a new system lol), much shorter queues for the main event, more trade stands and talks, working on more club/forum involvement, all with the same grassroots vibe, discounted food/drink, great company and incredible Jaguars.. oh yes, plus the usual prizes and awards and oh yes we have even simplified that for you too with a new system :-)

So go on, why not get involved with our event?

Hi Guys,

It's Friday and time to bring you up to date with our event..

I am currently in discussions with Classic & Sports Car magazine, a specialist lubricants company, and a company that specialises in organising incredible driving routes, plus I have been trying to gain an in-road to Jaguar theirselves.. as always no telling how much of all this will come together for you guys, but it is genuinely all on the go, and I have my fingers crossed that I can pull at least some of this off for you.

Our event patron is looking into our options for the tenth anniversary event currently. As you know, the plan is to try to pull together as big a showstopper as I can for everyone for this, and Frank is trying to get us seriously upgraded for one year only to a castle or large manor in the Sussex/Surrey/Kent area - as with everything I get involved in, no guarantees - but we are working on it :-)

As always, I have not managed as much as I would like - but we are on schedule nonetheless thankfully - most people are working on their upcoming events for this year, and I am sure it is just me working on our 2020 & 2021 events for everyone :-)

Please keep an eye on our event - as so much is currently on the go, and could well come into place for us over the next few weeks :-)

If anyone knows a specialist company that they know and trust that may want to get involved with our event please mention our event to them - they will be made very welcome :-)

Have a fantastic weekend everyone, and enjoy your Jaguar!

Hi Guys,

Our event is very much an all year thing I have concluded, as things are still very busy here..

The events Facebook page is very, very close to what I believe is the maximum limit of friends allowed, so if you do find that you can't tap into our event feed there for the event pics, news etc you can always follow the event on Instagram at JaguarForumsUK or it's Twitter feed @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet - you will be equally welcome, and still get all the latest news and pics as we go.

I have finally migrated the events Paypal account for donations, sponsorship and registrations from my personal domain to steve.sheldon@JaguarForumsUK.com - don't worry, the event is still not-for-profit with any and all income sunk into the event except for a percentage that now goes to the RNLI, our supported charity.

Our events website is giving us an insight as to how well our event is doing regarding engaging Jaguar owners aroud Europe as well as the UK, with the hope that we can build up our international contingents - previous events have welcomed owners from Spain, Germany & the Netherlands and it would be great to buold on that.

In the past week Jaguar owners have accessed the website from the following countries (in order of numbers) the UK, United States, Australia, Belgium and Germany which is fantastic.

I am still waiting on responses from a few potential sponsors for our next event, and still have a number of possible leads I can follow up for us - so please keep an eye on the event as we go - as always, there is always something on the go.

Also, don't forget if you didn't get to attend this years event, make sure you sign up for next years event before Christmas to be able to enter the free Christmas competition where you get the chance to give your Jag a great Christmas pressie so it doesn't miss out on the big day :-)

Thats it for the moment :-)

Very best regards, Steve

P.S.. Here's a few pics from our last event for you to hopefully brighten your Monday

Ok guys, There is invariably gaps in what you know about our event and how it got to be, well the way it is :-)

You may want to take a look at this article on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/story...-steve-sheldon where a few things you may not know about our event are covered :-)

We have some good news - if you remember we widened the scope of our event this year to not only include people & companies that directly support you and your Jaguar for the life of your Jaguar, but also to companies that depend on Jaguars for their business.

This is an aspect of our event I am chisseling away at currently to widen our scope, as I am sure it is not just me that has no idea of how much of an effect Jaguars have on all sorts of aspects of our day to day lives :-) (wait on the flood of responses telling me it's just me :-))

I have a lot of enquiries on the go with businesses, however I am pleased to be able to tell you that Stoneman Funeral Services have just signed up with us, making them the first! They attended our last event, and gave us all a chance to take a look over the gorgeous Jaguars they use, without having to pass away to do so :-) and to find out more about them. They were so impressed with us that they have signed up with us officially and will be onsite to discuss their cars, and of course the services they can provide should you want to. An absolutely massive thankyou to them for this.

They will be officially appearing as sponsors tomorrow, when I get a chance to update things, but thought I would let you know in advance.

Additionally I have been working on the event website, and have added an experimental page for classifieds - it's free, as is pretty much anything to do with our event, so please consider giving it a go alongside your current favourite choice of places to advertise your Jaguar parts.

Plus, things are still very, very busy with our event Facebook page - we now have over 4,500 friends there and will be running out of available 'friend slots' very shortly. Our LinkedIn profile is expanding as well, hopefully bringing more companies onboard to meet you on the day.

I will be offline next week regarding the event, but will pick up anything in the way of emails, activity etc the following week.. and meanwhile will try to get everything up to date for you guys by the end of Friday night.

Meanwhile please have a fantastic Jaguar week ;-)

One last update for everyone - if you remember I said it was interesting to see where people visiting the website, (and following our event) are from.

It gives an idea of where attendees may may be coming from for our next event and whereabouts we are finding incredible Jaguar fans...

Well in the past week the top five countries, in order of numbers has been:

UK
USA
France
Belgium
Canada

It's been another busy week one way or another here - one day I am genuinely going to say nothing has happened lol..

First some stats for you - in the last week this is the top five countries that Jaguar owners/fans have been logging on from:

UK
Italy
France
USA
Algeria

Algerian visitors are new in the top five, and in true Top of the Pops format (yes I remember that far back lol) its interesting to note the New Entry :-)

Ok, it's been a bit of a mixed bag this week for our event....

Our events Facebook page became oversubscribed, so we now have a new Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/2490627907835383/), which is already getting quite busy.

Frank Woodford (our event Patron), and myself are currently Admins of the new group and getting everything in place. Should anyone else be interested in helping out as an Admin please get in touch - I would love to hear from you.

With Franks help we are also introducing Jaguar Days Out - literally giving you days out between our annual events, at great locations - these are also exclusive to our Facebook group members.

I am in discussions with another company that uses Jaguars in its day to day business, and a specialist company that may be offering you a service that we all need actually onsite on the day :-)

Additionally, our event has grown to the point where it has been attracting friends that are not so much into Jaguars as selling jewels (yep Tanzanite would you believe to name just one of them being offered), dating, scams and so on, and a few friends of the event have been receiving unwanted messages - so Frank & I are currently going through the Facebook page, and group friends to remove those people from things. It is not my favourite job for us, as with my known mathamatical, numerical and even date prowess there is a good chance I will lop people off that should still be with us - if I do this to anyone that feels they should still be with us please, please drop me a line and let me know - mistakes do happen around me (well, so everyone around me tells me lol)

Please bear with me as we go, as I am working on quite a number of things for us concurrently (and as my wife would tell you I cannot multi task (which I translate as saying I cannot do well lol)) and things may seem a bit hit or miss for the next month or so but when I have gotten as far as getting the Christmas competition in place for you all I should be a bit more focused with more things in place.

As I said, things never seem to be quiet regarding our event and I have a few updates for you.

We have been looking for companies that depend on Jaguars for their business, and we new officially have a second signup.

L & K Funeral Directors have just signed up with us - they have a variety of Jaguars not just in the business but also personally. they will be bringing one or more show cars with them on the day, and I believe will be sponsoring one of the awards on the day for XJ saloons. A massive thankyou to them for their support of our event.

I have been contacted directly by a new Automotive Museum in New York regarding a possible link with us, and I am currently trying to find out if it is genuine.. if so, it could lead to a number of things for us here - but unfortunately I have no further info as of yet for you - but as soon as I know more I will let you know.

Additionally I am still waiting on the conclusion of discussions with another company that are very knowledgaeable about one specific system on our Jaguars - I am hoping they choose to work with us, and will be onsite to meet everyone on the day - but again more info to follow as soon as I have it.

I know you think I have forgotten (yep, you all know my memory too well lol) but I have been thinking on the posters for the event and have some ideas for a very simple, but hopefully effective design - on A4 format - that once done I can supply as a PDF to anyone happy to advertise our event to visitors or customers, and hopefully help increase the number of Jaguar owners we work with, with our event.

As always please keep an eye on our event as we go - I have a lot of possibilities on the backburner that I am working on for everyone, and even if I only manage the usual 50% of what I have on the go we still have an incredible event ahead of us :-)

Ok Guys,

It's a Friday and as always it's stats day so we know how we are doing :-)

Our Instagram account has almost 400 followers
Our Twitter feed has over 600 followers
Our website is busier than ever
Our Facebook page is fully subscribed
Our NEW Facebook group has gained over 500 members in less than a week.
We have signed up with a new incredible sponsor and I am waiting to hear from another two potential sponsors.

Neil and Mark have accepted moderator roles on our new Facebook group, helping ensure our group remains a great place to be. Huge thanks to them for this.

And our incredible event Patron Frank Woodford Mbe has added 'Days Out', and a competition for a VIP weekend at The Waldorf to the growing list of what we can do for our attendees and members.

And that is all in the last week!

And we have so much more in progress too with the upcoming annual event, our 10th Anniversary event in 2021, and not just connecting with companies that support our Jaguars, but also companies that depend on Jaguars. We have an incredible couple of years ahead of us, so please stick with us as our event has so much more to achieve for you all.

Have an incredible Jaguar weekend!

Very best regards,

Steve

OK Guys, Our event is now running its biggest ever competition - offering you a chance at a VIP Weekend at the Waldorf, London. Please note our event makes no money from this competition, with all monies gained going directly to the incredible RNLI helping them save lives.
All the information regarding entry terms and conditions can be found in our Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/2490627907835383 or in the News section of the event website at JaguarForumsUK - The Great British Day Out for Jaguar Owners.
A massive Thankyou goes out to or incredible event Patron Frank Woodford MBE for donating this prize and hosting the competition.

Ok it's Friday and time to bring you up to date with where we are so far with our event, what we are up to and what is to come:-)

Our forum threads have already received over 4,190 hits
Our Twitter feed now has 605 followers
Our Instagram feed 408 followers
Our new event Facebook group has 558 members
Our LinkedIn account has 619 friends in the automotive industry
We have 14 sponsors signed up with us for our next event
We already have 5 trade stands booked
We have two club/forum stands booked
We already have 3 awards sponsored

In the past week, in order of numbers here are the top five countries accessing our event website in the past week (in top of the pops style.. :-))

UK
USA
France
Andorra
Canada

I am currently in discussions with one potential sponsor, and have a number of initial enquiries on the go.

We are running our biggest competition to-date with the chance to win a VIP weekend at the Waldorf, London - full details about this can be found on the Competition page at the event website

I will be kicking off the Christmas competition, where you can win a great Christmas pressie for your Jaguar to ensure it doesn't miss out, at the end of September

The event itinerary is already under review so hopefully you can expect to see the changes we are making, in the next few weeks, so you know what to expect.

A huge thankyou goes out to Mark Lambourne & Neil Blaxill for their increased involvement with our event, helping moderate our Facebook group, and to our event Patron Frank Woodford MBE for offering the incredible VIP weekend at the Hilton as a prize, and hosting the competition. Noting that all monies from the competition go to the RNLI, not the event, helping them in their work.

Ok guys, I am back from a week off and already there is a stackload of good news about our event surfacing :-)

The Jaguar Breakfast Club has joined JaguarForums.com and JagChat.net in becoming affiliated with our event. They will be hosting a club allocation at our next event helping swell the numbers on the day, and have also sponsored a brand new award that you could win on the day.

Our event has a competition running currently giving you the chance to win a VIP weekend at The Hilton, London including your own underground parking spot for the weekend - full details can be found on the event website or the event Facebook group.

I am currently waiting on feedback from a new potential sponsor, and this afternoon I need to give a call to another company that is interested in working with us too..

There is even more going on.. news to follow as I get to it :-)

A while ago a good friend commented that Jaguar events seldom, if ever include funeral cars, and how (and why) did we manage to bring them onboard with us....

Our event is truly as inclusive as we can make it, not just for Jaguar owners attending, or trusted incredible specialists supporting Jaguars, but also businesses that depend on Jaguars for their work - and funeral companies not only depend on incredible Jaguars, but also have some of the best kept luxury Jaguars you are ever likely to see.

Additionally, did you know we already have 60 places prebooked by clubs and forums with another 12 places independently booked already for our 2020 event?

We are anticipating 300 Jaguars spanning over 80 years of production attending, and all in with a chance at some incredible new class awards, and prizes. Add to that the trade stands, show prices, talks by the Pro's, convoy element, and more and you have our ninth event - next one after that is our tenth anniversary event, a showstopper event so why not register for our 2020 event and guarantee yourself a great day out for Jaguar Owners, and keep an eye out for the info on our 2021 event.

Just to let you know, I am currently in contact with Surrey police to see if we can get any traffic or maybe motorway police to attend and host a talk for us - more info to come as and when I know more :-)

Hi Guys,

It's Friday (finally) and it's time for a news update regarding our annual event, which has grown in so many ways in the past few weeks...

Our forum threads have received over 4,800 hits, which is incredible
Our new Facebook group for attendees has grown to over 610 members
Our Facebook page still has around 5000 friends - I do need to go through this and have a serious go at unfriending people that are not genuine
We have an incredible 60 places prebooked by clubs and forums
We already have 13 (yep that lucky number) of independant bookings
Our Twitter account is stable at 607 followers
And our Instragram following is slowly growing and is now at 420

We are currently running a competition with all funds going to the RNLI for a VIP weekend at the Hilton inc underground parking - almost £1000 in value so well worth entering - noting our event is purely hosting the competition - we are taking no costs from it at all - all the info is on the event website, and in the Facebook group - it is well worth entering.

Additionally we now have two businesses that depend on Jaguars for their day to day work, and I an trying to expand on that. Also I am waiting on feedback from the Surrey police regarding any Jaguar use, and possibly attending and hosting one of our 'Talk by the Pros' sessions for us.

I am currently in negotiations with three companies, and one event, and as you likely know the incredible Jaguar Breakfast Club have just signed up with us :-)

Finally, as I get over the summer holiday period and get back into the swing of the school run etc here I am just starting to get geared up for the free Christmas competition. Remember to be able to enter the competition you need to have either attended our 2019 event or be registered for our 2020 event :-)

Don't forget to check out the VIP Weekend at the Hilton competition, and please consider entering.. our event Patron Frank Woodford has donated the prize and all monies go to the RNLI

I have just paid £5 to attend. This is my first Jag event as an owner so really excited!
Will the convoy and start of the day be from the Holiday Inn or somewhere else?

Hi David,

Thankyou for registering for our next event - I really appreciate it, and hope you enjoy your day.

The convoy/drive element will start at Pease Pottage Services, just a few miles south of the Holiday Inn Express around 8:30 to 10:00 (more details to come on the revised organisation of the convoy element for this year), with the main event at the incredible Denbies Wine Estate.

You get to pick up your free Welcome Pack at the start of the convoy/drive element, and on arrival at the main venue get discounted food/drink for lunch at the restaurant there, free inclusion in the prize draw, and guaranteed inclusion in the award judging - noting we have a number of brand new awards for 2020. We will have Talks by the Pro's, show prices on essentials, unlimited free advice by specialists, the prize draw, and of course you will be in with a great chance at any of a number of class awards on the day. I am hoping we will have a number of forums there with allocated areas and stands, as well as clubs with the aim of connecting you as best we can with the incredible support network there is for Jaguar owners, whilst hopefully teaching you some tricks of the trade, and giving you a great day out.

We have also become more than just an annual event, we have Frank Woodfords VIP Weekend at The Hilton, London, draw running which supports the RNLI, and as a registered attendee you can enter our free Christmas competition too for a chance to give your Jaguar a great Christmas pressie :-) Additionally we now have not just a Facebook page, but also a growing Facebook group, and to enable meets between our big annual events we now have Franks 'Days Out' too through the year.

If you have any questions please just ask, I am more than happy toi help in any way I can.. :-) Genuinely

I have emailed you your entry ticket / dash sheet, please print it out as it is your guaranteed access to everything on the day - it is even your Prize Draw entry ticket too :-)

Could you email me your Jaguar model, year and how many people will be travelling, as those details did not come through with your registration..

Very best regards,
Steve
