Just making contact with the local dealership in Brighton (following Jims good advice) as I believe it may be viewed more positively now we have official advertising of the event..
I will update everyone as soon as I know more... :-)

Steve, this is coming along nicely, seems to have added interest and hopefully gain more numbers too, all good.

As discussed, I've approached the dealership in Brighton, Harwoods Jaguar and asked if they'd like to be involved to some degree on the day?

The request has been passed to the lady that deals with these at Head Office, and we await a response.

I am quite hopeful.
Thanks

Well, so far we have the venue, advertising the event to visitors of Brighton, hopefully Jaguars' participation, and it looks likely we can also organise a 'convoy' from Crawley down the A23 to Brighton (Mike is on the 'convoy' case). If we can make it work this year I see no reason why it cannot become a yearly event :-) which would be great for advertising the forum, Jaguar and most importantly increasing our social calendar and having a great time :-)

To get things to this point is fantastic and a result of huge amounts of teamwork - thankyou to everyone who has been working on this to-date... now lets just get past the last few hurdles and see if we can make this the biggest South East meet to-date for us, a building block for next year - Brighton often gets car meets - from the Vintage Car Run (which I forgot about earlier - memory like a goldfish lol), to earlier this year I saw a Mini event, a custom car meet, and I know Brighton hosts a large number of car based events - but none that I know of like ours! It's going to be great for us in the South East of England to actually get to meet one another, to all be in the same place, see the scale of how many of us there are - and for people to come and see us, learn about what we love and enjoy, and everyone have a great time..

If you would like to be added please just make a post saying so and either Steve or myself will be happy to add you to the list.

I've assumed that ALL below are Car plus driver, and haven't taken any account of number of passengers / dogs etc

SteveSheldon (me:-)) car + 1
Mike213735 car + 1
Ngarara car +1
Rich86 car + 1
MickyBoy car + 1
Mark8 car + 1
BigBlackCat car + 1
OliverG car + 1
RSSteveH car + 1
BritishRacingGreen car + 1
John Tarantula car + 1
ChrisJohn car + 1

As for the convoy from Crawley down the A23 to the venue we have:
SteveSheldon
Mike213735
ChrisJohn

From assuming its all cars + drivers we have a total of 12 cars / people, or this could be 12 cars with 36 people + 3 dogs?

Please remember to add details of car plus expected number of occupants, this way we can try to build a more accurate picture for all.

Thanks

Hi all,

Looks like mine is car and "me". I have asked a car loving friend if he fancies it though. Will update on that once he confirms.

Chris - Do you fancy meeting before Steve's or there?

Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike.. if its a few people then definitely my place - best coffee in the area if I don't say so myself lol.. but if quite a few want to join in the journey down to Brighton then we may have to meet up at Pease Pottage Services at the bottom of the M23.. and convoy down from there..
In the next couple of weeks I'll be trying to get some kind of interest from the local papers in Brighton - maybe a mention of the event up and coming.. maybe a reporter coming by for a photo of the actual meet.. no guarantees but I'll give it a go..
Anyone else who would like to register an interest in coming along please post here or pm Jim or myself and we'll add you in.. :-)

Hi Steve, thats great news, thanks for letting me know.

I'm working on the banner and hope to get that shipped out to you soon too.

Spoke earlier to the marketing dept of Harwoods to see if they'd like to participate to some degree. I believe they'll be discussing with the DP and may get back to us at some point. I do know that they work closely with JEC so it may be too much, but we'll see.

You could also try contacting the local JEC and see if any of their members would like to attend?
You never know??

It could be a good crossover JF & JEC event

Great idea Jim.. I have just emailed them and will try to call them later today if I get a chance, to follow up on the email and see if anything can be organised across the board.

Hi Steve,
The decals Jaguar forums sent, are they specific for Brighton run or standard decals?

Standard white decals similar, in fact the same as signwriting decals to go on glass or paintwork. I do have a jpeg of them still on their backing and can email it to anyone who is interested in seeing them in advance..

The Jaguar Enthusiasts Club have responded to the joint meeting suggestion - they have forwarded it to the local region and will let us know :-)
