XK Valuation
My XK Portfolio 62 plate will be three years old in September 15.
I have been considering changing to the new XE S and went through the motion on line, of building a spec and also asking for a valuation on the XK for a part exchange.
The resulting valuation has been to put it mildly quite a shock.
Has any UK member got access to a trade car guide?
I would really appreciate a high and low figure to give me something to bargain with.
My details are:
XK Portfolio 62 plate, 6500 miles in excellent condition, slight Kerb Rash only. FJSH.
If useful please PM me.
Many thanks

To get an idea of what the dealer will be selling it for, have a look here:
Approved Used Jaguar Cars
That will give you an idea how reasonable/unreasonable the offer is - i.e., if you can see that similar cars are being sold for £40k, and they offer you £30k, they'd be trying to make a 33% markup (25% margin), which is excessive, IMHO. Any used-car salesmen on here, feel free to chime in :-)

XK Valuation update
It is now around nine weeks since I posted my original request for advice on the value of my XK with the view to change to a XE S.
A visit to the only Jaguar dealer in N Ireland resulted in an allowance for the XK of a shortfall, to me, of around £3K on the figure I had in mind.
I subsequently adjusted my figure down by a £1K, which to my surprise the dealer accepted with one very important provision, he would require my car at the time of the order being placed, with no loan car and me having to hire a car for a minimum of three months for delivery.
I would be interested to hear from any member if they have had a similar experience when ordering a new car from a Jaguar dealer.

Why on earth would you be contemplating trading the last big Jaguar GT for a better than average Euro box ? At three years old few cars hold more than 50% of their purchase price, that's a big hit on just 6000+ miles.
Your dealer wants your car now so he can sell it before it loses even more value prior to the delivery of an XE. I would be keeping the XK or a very least selling privately. The dealer has a good hand, demand for new XE and droping values on the XK and even F Types. Time to walk away and go back when your hand is stronger and the demand has dropped for an XE.
Not surprised at the lack of response, this is the American site, great for tech questions but the regional bits don't get the footfall.
