Default Best service center/repair shop in Atlanta area

Hey, new to the forums, and am trying to help my mom out. She's got a 1995 XJS convertible and is beginning to have some problems with it. My dad just takes it to the local mechanic by him, but I don't think that's the best idea, so I'm trying to find the best place to get my mom's XJS serviced.

From digging through these forums, I've seen Nalleyjagparts come up (specifically Dan). Is this the best place to go? Is it necessary or recommended to take her car to an Actual Jaguar service center? Are there any independent service centers that specialize in Jaguars that are better? Just looking for people's thoughts? Thanks!!!

Don't know what thw acronym is other than the p is for performance.
This is, I believe, run by a forum member.
Here's the address:

Ok, it's buckhead imports performance, here the number:
770-874-1807
As I mentioned in the welcome section, it may be our best bet to go to the dealer unless you need mods done.

Cool! Is this more of a after-market modding kind of place, or just a general service/repair shop? And I'm assuming they have good Jaguar experience, right?

It is more of a modding place, hence my disclaimer about a dealer may be better.
They do have jag experience, yes.

Cool. Thanks! Any recommendations for dealers? Nalley Jaguar seems to be getting high marks.

I don't actually know about dealers, sorry.
I've only had my jag for less than a week and I don't plan on using a dealer unless I have to since I live an hour away from the closest one.

Makes sense. Thanks for the input though. Good to know about that B.I.P. place.

Check with Coventry West in Lithonia to see if they know a good Indy shop. The salvage yards usually know and do business with the good repair shops.

Jaguar specialty shops (and other import mechanics) especially need salvage yards to keep their cars going, as some OEM parts are simply unaffordable.

Bulkhead Imports has 2 locations. Their smaller shop in Buckhead has a decent rep. I haven't heard much about the larger location except they offer dyno testing cheap on occasion. I wouldn't use the dealers for service, particular Hennessy.

Really? Yeah, I know when they do take it to the dealer, they take it to Hennessy Jaguar on Piedmont. Any particular incident that turned you off of them? So you're recommending Buckhead Imports as well?

Try Buckhead Imports, Buckhead location. They have many years of Jag experience. I have personally seen XJSs in the shop so you can trust that they've seen it, done it. Even if I had the money to use the dealership, I'd still go to BI. Good people.

Very cool. Hmmm.. Too bad I'm out of town this weekend coming up. I wanted to drive my mom's car first so that I could better explain the issues that she seems to think that the car has. Hopefully the weekend after though. But yeah, I'll definitely have them take it there and see what they say. Thanks again!!!

Cool. Yeah I'll definitely pass this info on along. Have you used them, or just heard good things about them?

I bought my 2006 XK8 from Hennessy in Buckhead a year ago. Select Edition warrantee. Bought 2 more years of warrantee on top of that from them. So I have been using them for maintenance and the little warrantee work I have needed. I rate them highly.

When the warrantee runs out, I may look at independents because of cost. But I have been satisfied with Hennessy.

Cool. Yeah, I know my mom's XJS is from Hennessy in Buckhead as well. Think they're satisfied with the service, but they like the convenience of the place by them <sigh>.

Tried to explain that you can't always go with convenience. You don't go to a nephrologist when you need your heart looked at just because it's close by.

I'd recommend us. Not sure what part of town you're in, but we're in Roswell and have an award-winning service department.

Hehe. Nice. Yeah, I live right in between Buckhead and Emory. Parents live in Lilburn. I work right up in Alpharetta though. You guys are like 5 minutes away. Still waiting to see what dad says though
