Default Hilton Head

I will be going to Hilton Head in a couple of weeks to spend the the weekend with my brother and his family. Can anyone recomend a good country eatery or fresh seafood shop, i was thinking of making a lower county boil. The yankees in the family need a good southern education! Ha
Thanks Jim

Thanks Rick, I used to hunt in the Walterbro area, was a couple that were commercial fisherman and had a great fresh seafood business shrimp, crabs etc. There is not a lot of room in the Jag for a big cooler so I was hoping to find a local fish monger. I have checked out the restaurant's that have been mentioned, love to cook, and enjoy a cold one. Were is sunny South Carolina? Jim

There's a stand set up right before the bridge coming on island that has fresh shrimp and sea food. Also, the vendors at the Friday morning farmers market at honey horn have fresh seafood. I just catch my own. My neighbor has a cast net for shrimp, I've got a crab pot that pulls in blues like crazy. Some great red drum fishing in the creeks too!

As for dining out, skull creek boathouse gets really good, fresh seafood. I love their calamari and various ceviche offerings.

Y'all must go to HUDSON'S ON THE DOCKS! A must for my family whenever we're in HHI. Great fried shrimp - locally caught GA shrimp, very lightly battered - and oysters Rockefeller! Reasonably priced, great views. Check out their website - menus, recipes: Seafood Restaurant | Hudsons | Hilton Head Island Get there early because they get very crowded.

Hope you enjoy it!
