Jag Techs South US
#22
Just joined the forum. Wanted to share my good experiences with Southside Motors (http://southsidemotorsinc.com) in Huntsville, AL. A great independent shop specializing in all things European. Gary Brazier, Service Manager, has taken great care of three old cars for us - two Jag's and a Mercedes. Excellent quality work that they stand behind (i.e. they fix it right the first time or no charge for any follow-on work); fair pricing; Gary even helps me with DIY suggestions since he knows I do a lot of work myself. Highly recommend Southside.

Watson Import Specialists - Greenville / Greer, South Carolina
Hello guys;
I'm a new XK8 Coupe owner, but I've got some experience with classics and sportscars, and would like to recommend William Watson of Watson Import Specialists in Greer, South Carolina (near Greenville).
He's got about 30 years experience under the hood, at least 16 specializing in Jags, and his lead mechanic (Billy) has 14 years of Jag experience.
William is an honest, no BS guy, and he's just as likely to tell you what you DON'T need as he is to tell you what you DO need.

Chattanooga area Jag Tech?
hi all,
Looking for a good Jag Tech in the Chattanooga area. I just brought my S Type into the import car shop for some transmission problems (reverse gear stopped working). They wanted to replace the transmission entirely along with the shifter cable, which was some serious $$$. Looking to find a good Jag Tech in the area that can rebuild rather than replace the transmission. Anybody know of anyone?

Sorry FL Jag Tech
Hey Tom,
I'm about to join the Jaguar owners world as I am purchasing a 98 XK8 that needs an engine replacement due to the famed Nikasil curse. Did you ever find that Jag tech?
Thanks,*****

Hello, Jaguar pals,
Just moved temporarily to Miami from Seattle, WA area. My 2000 Vanden Plas still in Seattle and though it has some electrical/mechanical issues is not running (one diagnosis is electrical short in system). Considering bringing my Jag to Miami if I can find a sympathetic and humanistic repair professional (non-dealer please). Does anyone have any recommendations. I split my time between Aventura and Kendall so would hope to find someone in the Ft Lauderdale and immediate northern beach towns and down south to Homestead or so....thank so much in advance...

Found a good Charlotte shop
Hey All,
Uptown Imports in Charlotte. Knowlegable techs that don't give you the Wizard of Oz treatment and hide behind the curtain. Took the XJR in, they let me play with the software and we did an extensive road test with the laptop hooked up. Very reasonable rates, 68.00 for the scan as apposed to 110.00 from Scott Jag.
If you are in Charlotte I would give them a look.

I am new to the forum and the reason I joined was to find information from knowledgeable persons. I have a 1999 Jaguar XK8 Convertible. It has 70,000miles on it and is in showing condition. After parking it without any problems the next day it failed to run. It would start and sound smooth and within 5 secs it shuts down. Using a diagnostic program that will read the Jaguar Codes as well as the OBII codes, I get nothing! absolutly no reason for the engine to shut down. Turning the key off and back on again, resets it to start and shut down again. The fuel pump runs fine and when the relay was bypassed to allow it to run, the fuel pressure was okay. All the relays are good all of the fuses are good. I bought a new ECM but need to get someone with a Jaguar System to program it. Before I rent a trailer to haul it 300 miles to a Jaguar dealer, does anyone have any ideas of what may be wrong?
