Jag Techs South US

If Jacksonville isn't too far for you call Michael Sachs at Sachs Automotive - (904) 641-0998. He has his own shop, ASE Certified, Jaguar factory trained and a heck of a lot cheaper than the local dealer. I've used him lots of times for my '98 XK8. Honest and knowledgeable. Only works on Jags. His website: Sachs Automotive, Inc. - Home

Just Jgas - West Central Tampa Bay - Tarpon Springs
Just got my 2001 XKR back from my new Mechanic of Choice, Just Jags. If you are in the Tampa Bay, Florida Area (South West Pasco County, Near Tarpon Springs), I would HIGHLY recommend them.
Their specifics are:
Go See John and Brandon, with Rosie at the front desk and I am POSITIVE they will give you back your Jag in a condition you did not think it could be brought back to!
No, I do NOT work for them, nor am I a paid endorser, just an extremely satisfied customer. They replaced 4 Convertible Lines (to both Rams) and Pump, add my pressure relief valve (L.S.I.), 100K Service (Radiator flush, all filters, new oil, etc.), replace Telescopic Steering Wheel Motor and a full visual inspection of everything else to be sure they were mechanically fit or replaced and my out the door price was SUBSTANTIALLY less than I expected to pay (nearly half!) AND they even recommended a few things that should be put into the the plan to be done, but at my leisure.
All in all, SOLID, REPUTABLE and HONEST! Definitely going back for all my Jag work!
Their specifics are:
- Address
- 5424 Provost Drive
Holiday, Fl 34690 <-- Mapquest Link

- Phone: (727) 944-2212

Best Jaguar shop in southwest Florida
For the past 3 years, I've been driving over 100 miles each way to see Rolando of Aston Jag Advantage (239-298-3760) in Naples, Florida for repairs and/or maintenance (above what I can personally perform) on my Jaguar. You will not find another shop anywhere in Florida with the highest level of integrity, honesty, quality of service, professionalism, quick turnaround time, and fair pricing that Aston Jag Advantage provides. Most of all, it is truly refreshing to know that you can take your car in for service blind-folded and never again get ripped-off. Your first visit to this shop will be your last visit to the dealer. Mark my words!

Hi, "Y-aaawwlll"
Asked a question to a member but as of yet, got no answr.
Spun a bearing on my '01 xj8. found a crank on ebay that mikes to the 10th to the original so its a good match for the other conn rods/bearings. HOWEVER...found a replacement conn rod/piston (don't need the piston) on ebay. the numbers on the rod/journal are different than the # on mine. Ouestion: Does it matter as long as I get the right bearings and/or do a plastigage on the fitting?
Also: I'll find out soon enuf, but can the piston come out the bottom or do I have to ****** the head off? Thanx, Guys. (Gals)
Gimme an old 350 and I can build it blindfolded. These cats are a "different breed"

Classic Jag Tech Help!
The Gentleman that I am helping with his junk yard liquidation is a Master
Mechanic on Classic Cats. 1950 thru 1970's. He can most likely walk you thru
a fix over the phone. At 76 and a few health problems the last 5 years, he is not turning many wrenches, but he knows what will work or not.
Please contact me by email or phone and I will pass you along
to him.

Hey All,
Uptown Imports in Charlotte. Knowlegable techs that don't give you the Wizard of Oz treatment and hide behind the curtain. Took the XJR in, they let me play with the software and we did an extensive road test with the laptop hooked up. Very reasonable rates, 68.00 for the scan as apposed to 110.00 from Scott Jag.
If you are in Charlotte I would give them a look.

Jaguar service - local shop in Lake Norman-Mooresville, NC area
I had great results and great service from Lakepoint Auto Service. They're located at 130 Lugnut Lane, off of Brawley School Road in Mooresville, NC.
They don't do it all, but honest enough to tell you what they won't handle (transmissions, for example). When I needed brakes on my 2006 XJ, they insisted that I bring the car in first, so that they could check the VIN to be sure what parts were required. Prices, very reasonable. Probably 1/2 the price of the dealer. I would recommend this garage very highly. They have a web site www.lakepointautoservice.com

In Northeast Florida (Jacksonville) I can recommend Michael Sachs owner of Sachs Automotive SACHS AUTOMOTIVE - HOME. He worked on my two previous Jags and was reasonably priced and never tried to make me have work done unless it was really needed. His labor rates are lower than the local Jag dealer.

Need Mechanic in SE Florida Area
Still looking for someone that can check out an XKR that I am looking to purchase soon. Any shops that I find are closed on Saturday and that is the day that I will be down in the area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have searched the forums but haven't had any luck finding a place.

I hope you found someone closer to you. If you did, please post their contact info here. Either way, I would like to know whom you were speaking of in Boca. I'm down near you.

This week I took my 2006 XK8 into an indie shop in Pompano Beach and began what I hope will be a productive relationship with the owner, Mitch. Seems like a great guy, has run a Jag-only shop for nearly 30 years. I had him do a bunch of work this week and I like him a lot so far. I may be breaking up with the service consultant I've been using for 15 years at my local Jag dealer. Here's his info if anyone is looking for an indie shop in the Fort Lauderdale area:
