Saturday 9/27 the Tampa Bay British Car Club had a lift day and open house at Glenn's British Car Repair shop in St. Petersberg FL.

I took my XJR there and got the oil changed and prop shafts lubed for free (I brought my own oil and filter) by a very nice mechanic. He drove the car onto the lift, admired my electric exhaust cut outs, did the work, told me I probably needed to replace my front shock bushings, but that if I could handle doing my own timing tensioners, it was job I could probably do myself.

I was assigned the nick name "Hot Rod" from the members because of the "beautiful" sound of my XJR with the electric exhaust cut outs open! Some liked it, some scowled, but we all had a great time playing with them in the parking lot.

There were about 30-40 British car enthusiasts there, only a few of us actually had any work done on our cars though.

We ate some burgers and "bangers," and I got to meet some more members of this nice club. All were very friendly folks, loved talking about all things having to do with our British cars. It was a very nice event.

Glenn does some awesome maintenance and restoration work. His shop was very nice, clean, orderly and well equipped and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The nice lady standing next to the beautiful 1963 Austin Healey is Barbara. She offered to trade me even for my XJR! I think she was joking, but her car was really nice and she maintains it herself!
