Default !990 XJS Owner in Stockbrdge

I am in Stockbridge. My 1990 convertible is undergoing a restoration where the car was sitting up in a yard for years. I have to clean the tank and completely replace the exhaust system. The interior also needs upholstery. I love these cars and I also like the challenge of getting it running again.
I also have a 1989 XJS convertible that needs a full resto. The Engine has been broken down - heads rebuilt and mounted. needs assemble. Great project for someone who love these types of Jags.

Just moved here from CT last October. We are just north of Jacksonville. Any Jag owners in the area?

New member here in the N.E.Ga. mountains, but without the Jag, so far....Looking for a
"driver" , in an XKE or XK150 coupe(s).....
Have had the "E-type" , so the 150 is my first choice....Currently driving a nice '60 MGA.

Hi All, went to a car show in Alpharetta, ga. 2months ago. Got up close and personable with a 2008 xkr. Then ,another show in highlands, Nc last month and stood by a 2009 silver convertable xkr. Ok, hook lint and sinker - just bought my 09 xkr silver, light interior. Just put new Michelin tires on it thinking the old tires were causing a whining sound coming from the rear. Better handling, but sound still mildly annoying, so off to Hennesey Jag. With only 18,000 mi. Service department said it could be a bearing in the differential and $6,000 to fix. Having a little buyers remorse! As a work of art, looks great in my garage, but I bought it to drive. Is this a common or isolated problem? Any help, thanks, Mark

Hi Mark,

I am sure that one of the moderators will move your message to the XK8 section of the forum. You will get all the expert advice you will ever need there. Also check out the new members section and tell us a bit about yourself.

As for your car repairs, I would recommend finding a good independant garage who can do repairs for a fraction of the cost that Hennessy will charge.

I went to them when I first purchased my '01 XK8, and they said you have a good car, but these repairs need doing at a cost of nearly $5,000. I did most of them myself and and what I couldn't do I had done at an indy. Total cost just over $300.

Enjoy your car and keep learning about it here.

Hello Jack from Jack. Glad to have you with us on the forum. We are reasonably close to each other. I live in Valdosta, so not too far away. Hope to hear more from you and about your Jag adventures. My 06 XJ8 has been rock solid so far and a dream to motor around in, hope you enjoy your car just as much. Great to chat, Jack Mathews.

the one by the airbase is on the road across from the entrance to wal-mart hes on the south side of the road on top of the hill there about 3/4 miles from cobb pky. he had a bunch of jags parked around the lot so if its full of jags its the right place .

Just saw the link to the Georgia thread.

Been driving curvy roads in North Georgia for the last 16 years on motorcycles and Jaguars. Anyone coming up to the mountains for the Fall foliage holler for drive/restautants recommendations or join for lunch.

I use Chris Kuhn at Kuhn Automotive in Tucker. He specializes in Cadillacs and Jaguars.....a strange combination...... Very reasonable shop.

I'm in Vinings just off Paces Ferry Road but the ride to Tucker is worth it.

Default Jag repair shop - ENZO's II

I've used ENZO's II for my wife's 1994 XJS 2+2. Nice company.
Great results and tons of info about the XJS if you ask.
They have locations in Marietta and Chamblee.
Check out their web site for more info:

Happy Trails!

First time Jag owner (Mike) here in Dublin, Georgia, which is below Macon about 50 miles and on I-16 at Exit 51. I would like to visit some shows and events within the State. Maybe I can find someone who knows why the hell my top will not come back up

Mike,

Welcome to the forum!

Jump over to the 'Modern XK8/R' forum and start a thread on the top issue and you will get lots of help. Checked your hydraulic fluid level in the pump reservoir?

Look for North Georgia Jaguar Club on the net (NGJC - The North Georgia Jaguar Club Home Page). They have gatherings and trips to nice places several times a year. Good group.
