Not as close as you would like, but Watson Import Specialists in Greenville is the go-to shop for those of us in the Upstate. William Watson has been working on Jags for about 20 years, and his partner has 16 years Jag experience.

Thanks. Good to know there's a good shop in the upstate. I've been going to Darryl Beech at Charleston Import Automotive for years. Now that I'm living near Irmo, I'd love to find someone familiar with Jags on this side of Columbia. Darryl has Jag software etc so for major stuff I run the car down to Charleston, but it would be nice to know someone local to entrust the cars with for little maintenance issues.

Surely there's an independent import shop around Columbia that can handle small maintenance items.
You're just talking about changing 8 spark plugs, spraying the MAFF sensor and wiping the gunk off the throttle body butterfly.
The original plugs are supposedly good for 100,000 miles--unless you're going into the cam covers to update upper camshaft tensioners, or change the plastic housing and thermostat.
Simple day to day maintenance is not so difficult on these cars, as most modern mechanics work daily on cars with this kind of technology.
