2015 Katie's Cars & Coffee - Great Falls, VA

Katie's, 05/23/15
Perfect weather, and a holiday weekend - a perfect day for cars & coffee!
A side note - the guy in the last picture was flying a quadcopter with a camera over the parking lots. It's obvious to me that it's a potential danger to people and cars. When I questioned him about it, he was dismissive, saying it'd legal, and his responsibility. We need to stop this garbage before somebody gets hurt, or it drops on a car.

A beautiful morning in Great Falls, VA. A good number of Jaguars.
I tried to contact all the Jag owners, to make sure they know about our event on Sunday, June 7th, at East Market at Fair Lakes, VA -

Awful weather today - rain, and more rain. It definitely cut down on interesting cars, but the local McLaren dealer trailered out a new 570S. Inside, many regulars still showed up to talk cars, and the full Katie's staff was there for us.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There will be no Katie's Cars & Coffee next Saturday, 7/4/15, due to the Great Falls July 4th parade.
Normal Cars & Coffee will resume Saturday, 7/11/15.

Katie's Cars & Coffee, 07/11/15
There's an interesting phenomenon when we regulars at Katie's can't make it to Great Falls for our weekly fix. To make up for it, more of us than usual just show up the next week - even when the weather is not great. Case in point: since there was no Cars & Coffee at Katie's last week, due to the local July 4th parade, we had a good turnout today, despite the light rain all morning. We even had a couple of vehicles I hadn't seen there before...
Three Jaguars there today, too!

P.S.: Don't forget - our sixth semi-annual A Pride of Jaguars (APOJ) meet will be at Katie's on Sunday, September 27th -

It's not news that Katie's has a large number of interesting vehicles, every week. What continues to amaze me, week after week, is that we get new-to-us vehicles constantly.
How about a Lotus Type 47 replica? A '41 Buick? A custom Corvette? A pristine, RHD BMW 2002? I had seen none of these cars before, but they were all at Katie's today!
...to say nothing of the bumper crop of Jaguars there today!

Another perfect-weather Saturday. I got to Katie's shortly after 5:30AM, and there were already about 25 cars there, including one I was told was left on the lot overnight. An amazing collection of very diverse vehicles, with exotics, classics, hot rods, hybrids, and even a steam-powered car. Some very nice Jaguars, as well.

Another excellent turnout at Katie's, with a pretty good number of Jaguars in attendance. (Don't forget to RSVP to me if you are coming to our Jaguar gathering here at Katies - lower lot - Sunday, September 27th, from 9:00AM - 11:00AM: A Pride of Jaguars 6!) All Jaguar cars and people welcome! Plenty of parking on the lower lot at Katie's on Sunday mornings.
Afterwards, many regulars went over to parade past a local Great Falls resident's house, at his daughter's request. Dr. Art Pilla raced Porsches, back in the day. Now in his 90's, he is unable to get out to Cars & Coffee, as he would like. We brought the Cars & Coffee event to him.

It's always interesting to see what effect a holiday weekend has on attendance at Katie's. While some regulars I expected to see were not there (getting one last holiday weekend out of town), there was no shortage of interesting vehicles there - and there were plenty of nice Jaguars there.
I'm hoping to continue this attendance when we hold our twice-a-year event, 'A Pride of Jaguars' here at Katie's on Sunday, September 27th. We will hold the event on a Sunday to avoid the crowds. Here's more info - I hope you can come! Click on the link below for more details -

A good turnout at Katie's, early this morning... then, it started raining, intermittently. Many of us bolted - I wasn't so lucky. I had my initiation into the world of low-volume kitcars... My Seven would not start, but after some serious diagnostics by a lot of talented people, I was able to get towed by a Katie's regular.
Thanks to all the folks who helped me with my car this morning!
Here are the only pictures I took this morning...

I stopped by Katie's this morning, briefly. It was overcast, and turnout was lower than usual - but there were still some interesting cars there!
