Cars & Coffee - Fairfax, VA

Maybe I'll stop out and see what this event (C & C) is all about next Sunday 7/15.
I recently installed a smaller 2.6" pulley and have gone back to OEM cats on my STR -- now I want to play. I plan on going to the following and hope some of you are able to join me for some fun
7/10 P Tuning Dyno $75 (maybe a group dyno day in the future)
7/11 Cecil Dragway, Test & Tune, $15
7/13 75 80 Dragway Test & Tune, $30
7/15 C & C
7/20 MIR, Test & Tune, $20

Fair Lakes, 09/02/12
A pretty good turnout this holiday weekend. I was very happy to see the the Emerald Fire XKR convertible show up (I also saw it at Katie's Saturday), but did not get a chance to talk to the owner, either day. A beautiful color combo - I'd love to find a coupe in this color.
When looking at the umbrellas in the Bentley's trunk, all I could think was, 'Choose your weapon!'
Please Note: We are doing a special "Get Your Lotus Out" event, in conjunction with the regular Fair Lakes Cars & Coffee on Sunday, September 23rd. We are asking anyone with a Lotus to come out, and we are also inviting Lotus 'cousin' cars - vehicles that Lotus Engineering worked on. That includes old Corvette ZR-1's, Teslas, Nissan GTRs, and even Aston DB9's, since Lotus did significant work on all those cars. If you'd like to bring your Lotus or related vehicle, please RSVP to me, robert(underscore)collum(at)hotmail(dot)com. Please let your friends know.

Fair Lakes, 09/09/12
A cool, clear morning. No surprise, then, that turnout was great, including a couple of Jaguars in attendance.
I am having a Lotus event at this venue on Sunday, 09/23. We will cordon off an area for Lotus (and Lotus-engineered vehicles) on 9/23 at the Cars & Coffee event. If you know someone with a Lotus, (or an early ZR-1, or Tesla, or GTR, or Supra, or Aston Martin), please have them contact me.
Am I correct in my belief that Lotus participated in developing the chassis for the current XJ & XK's?

Lotus (and related) Event, Sunday, 09/23/12
Looks like this Sunday is going to be great weather - a mixture of sun & clouds, 70F maximum. A PERFECT day for a Cars & Coffee! I already have 26 confirmed Lotus cars for this event. (Maybe we will rival the number of Mopars that gathered here earlier this year!)
I'd like to hear from any of you with 'Lotus-related' vehicles that would like to participate, so I will have an idea of what volume of cars to expect. We're looking for cars worked on by Lotus Engineering. If you have an early Corvette ZR-1, a Tesla Roadster, a Delorean, or a Jensen Healey, we're looking for you. Lotus also did suspension and chassis work on late-model Aston Martins, as well as the latest model Jaguar XJ & XK aluminum chassis. If you have questions about whether your 'cousin car' would qualify, please email me!
Of course, even if you have a car that has nothing to do with Lotus, you are more than welcome to be part of the Fair Lakes Cars & Coffee that will be right next to our group.

Fair Lakes, 09/23/12 - Lotus Event
We organized a special sub-meet for Lotus and Lotus-Related cars today, and had a great turnout. 30 Lotus cars, plus 4 products of Lotus Engineering: 3 early ZR-1's (Lotus designed the engine) and 1 Nissan GTR (Lotus consulted on the chassis/suspension). We will definitely do this again, and I'll try to involve the new XK's and XJ's in this class, since Lotus did chassis work for Jaguar.
Hope you don't mind the Lotus pics. At least it wasn't all Elises.
The GTR is Chris Cowan's new car.
(I did get permission from the ZR-1 owners to show their license plates.)
