Fun at MIR in November
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...vember-129988/.
My intent is to visit Maryland International Raceway the last three Sundays in November and it'd be fun to get a group of us there at least one of these weekends.
Chime in if you think you may attend any of the following dates.

Would love to but depends on if I can get the suspension rebuilt on my S, in time and also the water pump. Being new to the Jag family would love to meet up and see some other Jags. Maybe if it is at the end of the month or if i can get things done. Just have to wait and see. Only about 2-3 hours from where i live.

1320, one of the guys I work with does a lot up at MIR with a race team. He is thinking that they may be up there to do some testing. NOthing set in stone yet. But, he was thinking that they may be up there the last weekend. Not sure if you want to schedule something around this. But, I thought it might be interesting to be in the pits and see what the "pros" do.

RayLue: Good luck wrenching on your suspension and tensioners. So far, here's how things are shaping up at MIR the last three Sundays in November.
- Nov 16, Sun, Fall Performance Swap Meet / Test & Tune
Thermo may make it to meet and hang out. His work buddy may be coming out with his race car the last Sunday of the month. I expect to be at the track from noon-6pm and will bring some items for the Swap Meet: new set of platinum plugs, plastic supercharger cover, aftermarket air intake, non supercharged rear muffler boxes. In addition I will have some new and used E39 BMW 540i items.
- Nov 23, Sun, Test & Tune
Jackra_1 may make it and I expect to be there from 10am-6pm.
- Nov 30, Sun, Test & Tune
Jackra_1 may make it and Thermo's buddy may be bringing his race car. I expect to be there from 10am-6pm.
I need good cold air to get into the high 12s again.

Good morning!
I hope some of you are able to make it out to hang out at the swap meet and/or race today. I will be arriving today around 9:30am today with my 9 year old son.
Track temperatures are forecasted to be 45-50F, so it will be great day.
BTW, it costs another $10 if you'd like to set out items you'd like to sell.
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE
Update/Results:
Air temps were okay but not as low as was forecasted (low 50s).
1) 13.2xx @ 104mph
2) 13.5xx @ 102mph axle hop, let off throttle
3) 13.2xx @ 105mph
4) 13.033 @ 106mph

Time Slip Results
I'm Car # 500 on the attached time slips.
Race 1) 13.287 @ 104.62mph
Race 2) 13.548 @ 104.89mph spun & axel hop after 60'
Race 3) 13.243 @ 105.15mph
Race 4) 13.033 @ 106.83mph coolant was only 90F when in staging lines and ~120F as I staged for my race
Race 4 was with a 2008 Jeep SRT8. The Jeep had 79K miles, transmission tune and an upgraded cold air intake. It was a fun race, where the Jeep had the best ET by 0.100 seconds (Me 13.033 @ 106.83mph vs. Jeep 12.933 @ 105.05mph). It was both of our best runs of the day.

My 9 year-old son and 13 year-old daughter made the finales in a swim meet today (11/23), so it is not a good day for me to go to the track. Also, it looks like rain this afternoon.
Next Sunday (11/30) there will be an AMSOIL representative at MIR who is providing oil/fluid for our rear differential, transmission and motor. Let me know ahead of time and he will bring oil/fluids for you too. Cost will be around $200.
Update: $225 includes tax (2 qts rear diff, 8 qts trans, 8 qts engine)
I'll see you all there next Sunday (11/30).
BTW, I went to Cecil County Dragway yesterday and the air temperature was between 40-42F when I made seven runs. Unfortunately, the track was not prepared well and I could not get traction the first 100' off the line. Typically, I run 1.9sec 60' times but my best all day was 2.3sec with an ET of 13.3 @ 108mph. My worst ET was 14.2 @ 107mph. No matter the air pressure in the tires, I uncharacteristically spun badly.
Update: Cecil County Dragway, Car #123, Best and Worst Time Slips

Last track day of the year at MIR
Hope some of you can join us tomorrow at MIR. I'll be there the first part of the day (10 AM) but may leave if it gets too warm (~2 PM).
I arrived at my home tonight and I noticed I had a flat tire. It took a few tries but a plug finally seems to be holding. Also noticed that my last time out to Cecil Dragway really took a toll on my rear tires -- I don't have much tread remaining.

Nice to meet everyone today.
The late November weather was very mild and perfect for a meet and greet -- but not ideal for achieving best possible times. The weather was mostly sunny with temps ranging from the middle 50s to upper 60s.
I first met up with jackra_1 and he brought out his very nice an clean black 2005 Jaguar XJR. He wants to work on a few mechanical items before tracking his car. He expects to have it ready next Spring.
A bit later Ulises09 brought his new and very nice 2015 Jaguar F Type-R. Ulises had his buddy Fred in the car with him. They came with their friend who made some runs in a 2013 V6 Honda Accord.
Ulises had never raced his F Type-R before today and his 60' time was not bad at all at 2.0 sec but he likely could drop it to ~1.8 and lower his ET to ~11.6. As we left the track I experience first hand the active exhaust note (when opened) on the F Type R. The sound on acceleration and deceleration is incredible!
Next time we need to all hang out afterwards and grab some food and beverages.

- Their buddy in the Honda Accord ran 14.6 @ ?mph
- My best run today in my S Type-R was 13.2 @ 105mph
