Let's get another nice group of Jaguar owners and their friends to meet at Maryland International Raceway (MIR) just like we did in the Fall of 2014 and 2015. We have had a great time the last two years -- now lets make it three. BTW, you are not required to race.
Please reply to this post to let everyone know if you are interested joining us Sunday, October 16. Again, you are not required to race but everyone who races has a chance to win $1,000 in a Gambler's Race. If you are traveling a good distance you can receive discounted hotel rates (Click Here).
Admission
Adult: $15.00
Junior: (Ages 12-15) $10.00
Child: (Ages 11 & under) FREE!
Fee
Test & Tune: $30.00
Entry Fee includes driver's admission so the total if you race is still only $30.
Gates Open: 10:00 am
Time Runs: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Eliminations: 3:00 pm (Gambler's Race)
Gates Close: 6:00 pm
There are additional dates where I may visit the track too. Chime in with your preference if you can't make it Sunday, Oct 16th.

I am interested. I may even show up this weekend as I have been looking for a reason to go to MIR again. Look in the parking lot for a black 2012 XJ. That will be me. I will try and wear a black T-shirt with navy chief anchors on the front and a big scene on the back talking about navy chief initiation.

Thermo:
I am looking forward to meeting you and seeing your 2012 XJ. My name is Bryan and I'll be driving a 2005 Black S-Type R.
If my ABS module arrives today, I will see you at MIR tomorrow (9/25/2015). Unfortunately, I'm no longer optimistic about it arriving today since I have been tying to get shipping details since Wednesday but have not been provided any type of shipping or tracking information.
Edit:
- I WILL NOT BE AT MIR 9/25/2016
- ABS module will not arrive until next week (likely Wednesday)

Bryan, then lets shoot for 10/16 and get the whole gang there. Maybe we can give these SOMD folks a small show and get say 4-6 of us back to back to make a run. Part of me would love to just get the kitty out there to see what Jackie can do. Besides, I'm about ready for a new set of tires and I have always wanted to smoke the tires just for fun.

I am planning on being there. I will be in a black T-shirt that says "Section 60" on the back with a series of dots connected by lines.
In case you are curious, the lines and dots signify that everyone is only 6 degrees of separation (think the famous Kevin Bacon game) from someone buried in Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery. For those reading this, you are only 2 degrees of separation from someone in Section 60.

I met with Thermo last night and he drove his very nice Jaguar XJ 5.0; I believe he said it was a 2012 model. He was there to see all the great cars and enjoy the racing atmosphere.
Unfortunately, I arrived just prior to 7pm and not 6pm like I'd hopped. By this time, the lines to race were some of the longest I've seen since I first visited this track in 2008.
After going through tech, I immediately got in line to race and began to cool the inter-coolers with ice. The long line gave me a chance to chat with Thermo. I found out that we both have careers that involve electrical/electronics engineering. We also got the love of cars from working on them with our dads.
With the long lines they kept the tack open an extra 30 minutes but I still only got two runs.
Race 60ft 1/4mile mph
(1) 1.938 13.072 106.86 @ 50F
(2) 2.411 13.707 106.02 @ 48F
Note: During the second race, I had a bad launch (spun twice) because only the driver's side wheel spun while staging and during the launch, only the passenger side wheel spun.

Nice work Bryan! You can't really get any closer to 12s. It's good to know your car is still super fast after all those miles.
I plan to visit the track soon with my car and, hope to be able to get close to your record run of 12.9. Looking forward to seeing more of your results. It seems your car was trapping slightly higher with the 1.7lb pulley which is interesting.
