It dawned on me I overlooked one shop, though it may be a little more distant, Mike Gassman at Gassman Automotive in Waynesboro, Va., maintains a number of Jags for local members of the Shenandoah Valley British Car Club (I belong even though I’m in the DC area), and I’ve chatted with a couple of XJS V-12 owners at the show who have Gassman work on their cars. Sorry for not recalling this earlier.

Yet another one more thought: The National Capitol Jaguar Owners Club has its annual concours show in conjunction with the local Triumph gang at the huge Britain on the Green show Sunday, April 28, at Gunston Hall in southeastern Fairfax County. It draws 200-plus cars and a lot of vendors, including a number of shops such as London Auto (Falls Church) and a different restoration outfit that is based in Manassas, not the one at White Post that I mentioned earlier. Perhaps a jaunt down here to the show might connect you with additional resources. There’s a website for Britain On The Green that can offer more details.
