I would like to Welcome anybody in the Iowa Illinois area to our clubs drive to Balltown Iowa on May 22. Below are the details:
Quad City British Auto Club
May 22, Sunday—Sunday drive to Balltown Iowa. We will have a rain date of June 12th. We will meet at the Iowa Welcome Center 900 Eagle Ridge Road, right near I-80/US-67, leaving at right around 9am and travel the Iowa side, stopping at Eagle Point in Clinton. There is a great spot for photographing cars over looking the river. Then on to Balltown thru Dubuque. On the way back we would cross over 52 to Savanna and stop at the Palisades. It's about a 2.5 hour drive non stop. That will have us arrive up there about 12:30 -1:00. While the drive would be more fun with more British cars participating, all cars would be welcome to join us.
Here's a little information about the restaurant.
Breitbach's Country Dining is a casual dining restaurant and bar located in the town of Balltown in Dubuque County, Iowa, United States. Breitbach's is the oldest continuously operating restaurant and bar in the state of Iowa, having been open since August 23, 1852. The establishment has been owned and operated by the Breitbach family since 1862. The current owner is Mike Breitbach.
Breitbach's is located at 563 Balltown Road in Balltown. The place offers classic Midwestern dishes, including German ethnic foods such as sauerkraut, sausage, and coleslaw. It has been featured in an episode of Food Network's Feasting on Asphalt 2: The River Run, which showcased the restaurant's quality pies.
If you want to join us just meet us at Iowa Welcome Center on Sunday.
We will also have our 24th Annual British Auto Fest August 6th & 7th
