Default I just bought a 2006 XJL Super 8 Portfolio...

I just bought a one owner 2006 XJL Super 8 Portfolio with 46,000 miles on it, in which, I hope it's as reliable as my 1998 XK8 has been ( primary and secondary tensioner and guides recently replaced :-) ). I did buy this through eBay (I was the highest bidder); I never bought a car this way and now I have to ship it approx. 1,000 miles. Does anybody have any experience with shipping a car and can offer a company that's good. I been reading up on this and it seems, it's basically hit or miss. <grin> This car is being shipped from Greenville, Kentucky to Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

I have used Intercity Lines in the past and would highly recommend them. They specialize in collector car transport and have never let me down when it's high value transport. This time of year for that trip you could save money by going open carrier and not have much risk. I have a carrier that I use for business transports, very happy with them, can give you contact info if you want, just PM me. Mike

Buy me a ticket and I'll fly down and drive it back - I'm on the South Shore too. (I wish, I'd love to drive that baby cross country!)
Seriously though, congratulations! Show us pics when you get it!

I just got my 2006 XJL Super 8 Portfolio today and the Check Engine Light is ON <grin> I got the codes read by Auto Zone, in which, I posted in the XJ forum at:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...2/#post1781484

I live on Cape Cod Mass (South Shore) and it’s really hard to find a good mechanic that works on Jaguars and the nearest Jaguar dealer is about two hours away. Does anybody know of a good place on or near Cape Cod that works on Jaguars??? I could do some of the repairs myself, but I’m getting up there in age <grin>

Wow, very nice!
Unfortunately my mechanic is way up in Upton and it's a haul for me and I'm just in Weymouth. Sorry!

Chknhwk, I might see u in Upton - LOL I also own a 1998 XK8 with 35,000 miles on it and I’ve fixed most problems myself so far, so I will try to fix the Check Emgine Lite myself too. But maybe I should bite the bullet and have my 2006 XJ checked out at the dealer, because this car is a special car that only about 120 where created and sold in North America <grin>
