Jagtec1 - I live in the western suburbs of Philadelphia - Wynnewood. I am looking for a technician to do some work on my 1984 Jaguar VDP - mostly electrical and body integrity (opening/closing hood and opening/closing front passenger door). This is a car that I have been lightly restoring - it only has 36000 miles on it. Let me know if you would be interested in doing the work for me and if so - how I can contact you. It's a long ride (40 miles) for me but worth it. Dana is a great guy, honest good mechanic, reasonably priced and really knows his Jaguars.

 

I found a great indie in Westport, CT for those of you in the greater NYC area: J & J Car Care at 271 Post Rd E. They have a Jaguar banner hanging out front. One of the owners has worked on Jags his entire adult life. When I was there with my 07 XJ8L for an oil change I saw a few X308s, a brand new XK, and an old E type being serviced. He was easy to talk to and took an immediate interest in my car. Gave me lots of free advice, spent time going over my vehicle with me, and seemed to be motivated by caring for the car more than the sales side of the business. Knew what made my 07 different from other model years of the X350 under the hood -- really knows his stuff.

 

Any jag techs in the Central NJ area (Freehold, Lakewood, Jackson). 08527?

 

I have used Bay Auto Body in Newington , NH for my 2003 XJ Sport. A friend of mine goes there for his 1997 XJ6. Ed Bober is the owner. a big Jag enthusiast. a full service shop, mechanical and body work. very ethical. Knows his stuff And how to get it done efficiently.

I'm in Fairfield County and I use J & J Car Care at 271 Post Rd E. in Westport CT. They specialize in Jaguars and one of the owners has been working on them for over 30 years. They go over my car with me each time I visit to point out areas to keep an eye on. As far as I know they don't advertise so it's mostly word of mouth to grow the customer base. OK, I take that back - there's a Jaguar banner hanging out front, I suppose that's advertising. Highly recommend them.

 

Northern Jersey - Hawthorne

If anyone is looking for a very good/authentic Jaguar mechanic that really knows these cars well, Marotas Motors in Hawthorne. He will most certainly take care of you and your Jaguar. He will work on other cars but specializes in these.

Really there are no shops near philly?

I know of a good mechanic about an hour west (british 4x4 -- trevor griffiths) who works on jags, but no one closer?
