Default New 2000 XK8 owner from Maine

Hello to my fellow North Easterners.
I'm a new 2000, Topaz Metalic, XK8 convertible owner! I fell for the car a month ago, and traded that day and drove it home. The car has been always stored Winters, has never seen snow, and only had 49k Miles....Just what I was looking for. Needless to say my wife got a surprise when she got home from work and opened the garage door Her 1st words were "what is that"??

We both love it, and though the top down season up here is about over...We've already put some miles on the car.

Great board here. I've already learned a lot from my early on lurking.

Regards,
Todd

Todd,

I'll keep an eye out for you as I drive back and forth between our place in Harpswell and NH in the summer in my black 98 coupe. We are in Bath quite often to go to Beal St BBQ and used to have a place in Phippsburg at Small Point. I just put studded snows on the old girl as i can't put it away for a whole winter, I'll let you know how it works out! Congrats on the new kitty!

It just struck me, did you happen to drive your car out to the end of Rte 123 in Harpswell just before Halloween? I was working on my seawall that day when a similar car drove past me, was going to yell "nice car!", but thought better of it. Not many KKs out that way.

Hi Jim,
I was most likely on 123 around Halloween.....If it was on a weekend it was me enjoying the fresh air

I grew up in Phippsburg. My older (retired) brother has a place in Small Pt that is up on the bluff that looks down on Hermit Island. Small world for sure.

My wife and I also took a wonderful top down ride down to Cook's Lobster House for Thanksgiving. They put on a great meal, and with temps in the 50's and the family out of town, we couldn't resist!

Stay in touch and keep an eye out for us in the Spring.

Todd

Below is a pic of Cook's from the Cribstone Bridge and out front with my friend's BMW on Thanksgiving.

Todd,
If you'd pointed the camera just a bit to the left you'd have taken a picture of our cottage across the bay from Cooks! Our old place in Small Point was on Wyman land just across from the Kelp Shed/Yankee on the Branch, I may just know your brother.

If you like Cooks you ought to try the Dolphin Restaurant out Basin Cove Rd off 123, the views better if you can believe it and the service and food are fantastic. Do not ever eat at Estes Lobster House on 123, absolutely horrible BTW.

I'll keep an eye out for you this summer!
