Default RI service?, sunroof problem question

Hello. I am a new jaguar owner and seeking help regarding the sunroof on my 1998 XJ8.

I have read all of the "sunroof" posts and pdf attachments but have been unable to find a solution.

I have tried to reset the mechanism and have checked the tracks for blockage.i also removed the sunroof fuse and reinstalled. Thus far, nothing has worked to resolve my problem.

My sunroof had worked in the past, opening and tilting fine. However, when opening and closing I would hear a rather loud popping sound.
One day last week, I opened the roof as usual, but there was an incredible amount of noise and wind pressure in the cabin. I closed the roof and reopened.

then the roof began to cycle itself. I pressed the button to close, the roof closed and tilted on its own. now the roof is tilted up. Pressing the buttons (and reset procedure) has done nothing. When i do press the button forward i can hear a very subtle clicking sound coming from the switch (however, there is no movement and no motor noise).

I wonder if anyone may have any insight on the issue. Thank you so much in advance for sharing your knowledge.

Also, would anyone recommend a good Jaguar mechanic in Rhode Island/ SE MAss area?

Best regards and happy driving,

Matt
