Hey Seattle, lets meet!
Any interest in meeting for a cars and coffee on Feb 7 or 21? (The Super Bowl is the 1st and Valentines Day is the 14th.) I know it's early, but your cats are ready to get some exercise! Maybe not a drive, per se, because the weather sucks, but just meet for a drink at the Newcastle Golf Club on the eastside (with any luck we might get a vista through the clouds for a photo op), or maybe The Roanoke Tavern on Mercer Island for something more winter-cozy... or maybe meet in Seattle and cruise up I90 for a lunch at Snoqualmie Falls Lodge or North Bend Bar and Grill.
Again, something quick, not a day-long commitment, just a chance to get out of the house and meet new people, plan for the year, and pat ourselves on our backs for owning these exclusive automobiles and living in the most beautiful corner of the world (If Vince is the only taker I'll suggest we stay on the Bainbridge side of the water for an afternoon tour of our local public houses.)

I just got back from a visit with James, the barkeep at the Woolly Toad, the cigar bar (which, ironically, is non-smoking and now serves coffee and breakfast) at the Newcastle Golf Club. It looks like a perfect venue to toast The Year of the Jaguar. There should be plenty of room in the parking area to arrange our jags for a photo op with Seattle as a backdrop. We should have the place pretty much to ourselves. Apparently golfing isn't a popular sport in February.
I propose we meet at 10 AM at the Krispy Kreme in Issaquah. After we are all sufficiently present and caffeinated we can take off in a convoy for the club via the back roads around Tiger Mountain. It should take around an hour or so. Ideas for alternate routes are welcome.
Either date was fine with them, as it's a first come first served venue.
Speaking of dates, I don't understand the posts about the Griots event. Are you guys going to that? I didn't think it would conflict with the time, but if it's a deciding factor for you then let's move the date. I am not keen on the whole 8 AM thing, myself, but I don't want to conflict with anyone who is going. Let me know this weekend so I can send out an email to everyone and finalize the details.

Radios. Right! I knew I'd forget something
We utilize FRS radios (available at Best Buy or anywhere, really) to communicate car-to-car while we drive. If you've never been on a drive with JaguarForums don't feel like you need to run out and get one for this tour. They come in packs of two, so most people have an extra, anyway.
I want this to be an "introductory" meet, more for the purpose of having fun and getting everyone "bit" by the driving bug so this year starts off with a bang. We'll get into the "hard-core" stuff soon.
