June Meet and Drive!

OK, we are down to the wire, and no final start time or location.
I'm not doing well setting this one up, my apologies.
Weather however is looking great for Sunday!
For now, I recommend we stay with a formula that we know has worked.
We meet at McDonalds in Kingston at 9:30, grab a cup of Joe and departure NLT 10AM for Pt Gamble.
This lets any ferry traffic arrive with ease, and those crossing the bridge can meet me in Gorst at 8:30 - 8:45 (8:45 departure) for an easy drive to Kingston.
Dig into your bag of ideas for a lunch in Pt Angeles. I know of very few, but while we eat we can decide if we climb the mountain or drive the lake.
Don't forget, if we head to the ridge, we are entering a national park, so fees will apply.

It's Swimref that I need to apologize to now...
We would all have enjoyed his presence if I had picked a different date.
See ya on the next one

Wow....
I was starting to worry about that, as the drive as such, is a pretty serious commitment for those of you in the north....
No worries.
This thing is kinda dieing on the vine...
I think Muddy wants out as well... and with half our group now offline, maybe it is as good a time to bail as any....
Personally, I have been watching the weather, and Sunday is not a day to sit indoors trapped by a TV set. 79 degrees and clear skies says I'm still pointed to Pt. Angeles.
Rahtok? Anyone?

I'm still in. The game starts at 3 and I can watch it from the gastropub in Port Angeles where we can eat and grab beers after the drive. (But, for myself, I'll likely settle in until the game's over.)
My concern du jour is that my engine coolant is well below minimum. Where do I get this special orange coolant?

Timing puts us in PA at about noon. I originally thought we would stop and eat as soon as we hit town, because we can look to our left to see if the mountain is clear of clouds, and discuss high/low route preferences over lunch.
Up and down the hill would be about 1.5 to 2 hours total.
Endo of Lake Crescent would be a tad less as it is much higher speeds.
Not sure if the snack bar is open on the top, but it might be...
You think everyone will hold out till the end of the drive before getting hungry?

Go see if Norm still owns the NAPA store in Bradly center. Regardless most Auto Parts stores carry organic Antifreeze, just look for the GM Dex-Cool approved stuff. We can eat anytime. Your plan sounds great to me.

Well, didnt get the XK back today, so I'm sporting a dark maroon 2013 XF...
At least I'm still flyin the Jag-flag, and it truth, it's a pretty darn nice car! Not my color pick by far, but I am enjoying it none the less.... (It is a Jag after all...)
The 3.0 Supercharged V6 is quite fun, but I have to admit the 8-speed gearbox is annoying at freeway speeds..... Always hunting...Grrrr... Miss my 6-speed.

No apology necessary, I understand how it goes. I hope whoever does make it has a great time.
Regarding the coolant, Muddy is right, it must be the special orange coolant in the direct injected engines. Do NOT under any circumstances use regular coolant, no matter what brand. Any parts store should have it, usually in a blue jug with an orange cap marked extended life. It often comes ready to pour, do not mix with water.

<chuckles> I was waffling a bit myself. I really should be doing some home improvement stuff. I spent the first half of the day at Exotics and up at Snoqualmie Falls with the Rolls folks. BTW, the valet's were more than happy to move cars so we could park out front. The valet said the next time we bring a car group up, just call ahead - they love having car clubs take up all the parking up front.

Down to the wire....
I am committed to showing up in Gorst (Subaru dealership used car lot) for a 8:45 Departure, and no idea if I am meeting anyone there.
I will then be in Kingston (McDonalds) for a 10AM departure, and no idea if anyone is still interested.
If even one person shows up...the drive is on...
If the lot remains empty at 10AM, my kid and I will go elsewhere, or go it alone...
