I thought that due to parking and traffic issues we liked to avoid festival weekends. Anyway, I cannot make it on 9/23, but would love to participate on 9/30 or 10/7.
I'm gonna start tossing reminders out here, that time is running short for this drive. We have 3 so far for Oct 7th, but this is a dismal start to our most popular event.
Let's get everyone looking at their calendars and seeing who can and cannot make either date. We should easily be up to 10 Jags or more, so get yourself on the list!
Oct 7th I have other comittments to the Lego Convention downtown (BrickCon.org, if anyone cares!) I can do Sept 23rd (Saturday)... my oldest moves into his Freshman College Dorm on the 24th, so I think Sherry would skip coming.
Sounds good mprinvale. You would be the first to make that particular run, however we also have a couple of our Canadian friends that have traveled similar times/distances. Definitely give it thought. We start in Monroe, and pretty much do the full day as a loop, so a hotel before and after is recommended.
I can do September 23rd. Maybe October 7th. The weather, of course, is more certain in September. When we have our date, I'll invite the Jag club. We'll probably get a couple cars from them.
Weather..... Yuck....
I've messed up one or two of these drives worrying about weather.
Our first event was in October, and we returned westbound on I-90 in a freakish snow storm! That alone was a key reason we started looking into late September instead. But even then, we postponed a Sept. event thanks to reports of torrential rains on both sides of the pass...
We've seen rain before, and I slowly learned we still have a great time regardless, thanks to great people and awesome cars.
Point being.... regardless of the date chosen, it's still a dice toss, but I do prefer the Sept date just because it puts odds a tad more in our favor.
Well, let's bump the post for one last chance to give input or preferences.
We care not what condition your kitten is in, daily driver, restoration project, or pristine show car...the marquee itself is our statement.... We love our cars and enjoy keeping the linage of these beauties alive, both past and present.
But the annual Cascadia Cats to Leavenworth is much much more. It's the people you meet, comradery shared, and friendships made that let this event stand out.
For newcomers:
This is a family event... The typical drive begins in Monroe WA around 9:00am. A stop or two (photo ops?) before reaching Leavenworth lets us get out and mingle.
Once in Leavenworth, Andrea Keller’s has been our primary lunch gathering (Your free to explore on your own if you desire). Remaining spare time allows for visiting a shop or two before heading back west via Hwy 97 and I-90.
As we summit in late afternoon, many choose to depart for home, or if enough interest remains, we end with a dinner parting.
FRS radios are used for car to car communications, so if you need a set, they are inexpensive and available at most any generic retail chain.
Anyone is welcome to join or depart the group at any time, but letting us know what to anticipate would be appreciated.
Join us by getting you name and preferences on the list... We are calling the date within the next day.
So lets hope everyone made it home safe from the holiday!
Looks like the 23rd of September will be our Leavenworth drive, so everyone mark your calender's!
XJDanny: Get the invite out the Jag club as soon as you can if you don't mind...
Muddydog: Another round of PM's with the date please...
Swimref: Yer killing us buddy...Muddy and I cringed on the 23rd as the date, because for the second time this year we've lined up a drive you will miss. It is truly our loss to not have you along. I know if it is possible for you to juggle schedules, you'll try your best, and my fingers are crossed.
That's all the news for now. Anyone have questions, fell free to PM myself or Muddydog. Look forward to meeting old friends, and hope to make several new ones as well.

Unfortunately, I am teaching a class in Issaquah Sept. 23rd, and in Bellingham again the next morning. This makes two years in a row to have to miss Leavenworth, and with so many fewer drives scheduled now compared to before, 2 complete summers for me and the months in between with none. I sure hope something can be done in October or November. I know it would have to be low altitude, maybe a revival of the around Hood Canal or Whidbey Island drives.
Anybody have a recommendation for a decent hotel that is nearby this event? If I can make it I'll likely drive up early AM, spend the day with ya'll and then spend the night so I can leave at my leisure the next day.

If we come back via I-90 the Issaquah area should have plenty of options. Depends on our itinerary...
