Howdy ya'll! That's about 3hrs from me which isn't terrible but a bit too far for a day trip. If it was on a longer weekend I might be able to turn it into a little vacation and join up! Hope ya'll have fun. Looking forward to attending the June or July drives...just got some new Pirelli p-zeros on the rears so that'll be fun to burn through those again

ps. 20's are expensive

No worries my friend. We know it's tough covering the distance, even if it is in a Jag... Makes fora very long day indeed.
Look forward to seeing you on the next one!

Dang... though we had you hooked for sure! (you'd have loved a few of the back roads I was planning!)

Well, I've got 5 votes for Pt Townsend, but only 4 participants?

Well, should we revisit May 26th since it sounds like more can participate? Weather is expected to be decent at partly to mostly sunny. Just tossing it out there..... May 26th works for me as well.

Eeeks... Down to three...
If we can get a hold of ShiftDriftDream, I have the 26th free, so I'm game if you both are.

Let me PM him and see if I get a response...

Hate these last minute fails, but we did have the 26th as a possible backup. If someone spontaneously shows up in Pt Gamble, I'll feel like.. Sugar Honey Iced Tea...

No Response from ShiftDriftDream as of yet. I may have to show in Pt Gamble to be sure not to anger a local member.

we shall see...

I’m interested. At this point I’d prefer the 26th since I don’t know if tomorrow is happening or not. I’m at least 1hr 40min away from Port Gamble and I have to catch the Edmonds/Kingston ferry at 8:50am at the latest. So I have to be on the road by 7:30am in the morning. I say we do the 26th and if we still end up with 3 it’s a go regardless.

I'm with you there...
ShiftDriftDream was a tentative anyhow, and lack of his reply should not bind anyone but myself as host. I PMed him including my Cell...

I'll show up in Pt Gamble (it's 40 minutes from me, and no boat ride), just to be sure, and if a mystery Jag shows up, hell... I'll drive just for the fun of it... If not, cool... We'll get Swimref and maybe a few more on the 26th.

The Final call... CANCELED

Lack of participants makes the 19th a fail.
Reset the clock to May 26th. Meet at Pt Gamble, 10AM

If you will participate... Post up ASAP!

Glad I looked at this! Was getting up early to catch a ferry. Now I guess I get to sleep in. For the future who should I RSVP to? I never saw a request for doing that. Have fun on the 26th can't do next weekend.

Wow bob, glad you did check in, though as I said, I will be there to welcome anyone that shows up... Driving is never an issue for me, so even failed meetups can still find two cars having a great time, and often with far more flexibility that the chosen destination.

Anyhow, the RSVP part is typically done here in the posting. The perfered method is to read the latest attendance list, copy it, and paste it to your post... Example: grab

1.) Clevername
2.) ShiftDriftDream - tentative
3.) ?
4.) ?
5.) ?
6.) ?

Add your name
1.) Clevername
2.) ShiftDriftDream - tentative
3.) BobB
4.) ?
and let the next member do the same. so on and so on....

Anyone can PM me, and I will post them to the list if they prefer...

As I said, come on over if you like... It just wont be the group run we all hoped for... (can still show off some great back roads though!)

No worries I'll look for some later in the summer. Saw it was cancelled and my wife made other plans for us. I'll add my name to the list next time.

There were Mini's in Port Gamble this morning! It would have been an OK day, a bit cloudy, but in the end I guess we all felt a bit lazy and Vince made the right call to cancel. I couldn't make the drive, as I said earlier, but we had a good breakfast in Port Gamble instead. The 26th is on, however, rain or shine! Let's drive!

Can I ask for a tad more details regarding the route, specifically the end point. Since it's a long weekend I'm going to just make a little trip out of it but will need to know where to look for hotels and such.

Edit: Keep in mind memorial day weekend traffic can get pretty crazy. Not sure if that should impact the start time or not.

Point taken. For those taking a ferry to Kingston, the Edmonds side can get crowded as folks flock to the Olympics for camping and such. Might be best to look at one ferry earlier than needed for safety.

At present, the majority is Port Townsend/Fort Warden, and I personally am for that choice. Yes it will be busy, but any drive will have that issue this weekend. Hood canal loop will be slow and heavy in traffic, so I doubt passing cars will offer any escape.

I do have a 'fun' back road or two with the PT route.

If you could stay in Port Townsend, or maybe depart our group and stay in Port Angeles, you could point to Forks, and enjoy a run south on 101 Sunday. It's a nice drive, and Sunday should be lighter in traffic.
I just don't know either town for Hotels. MrWhite is in the Pt Angeles area so he might have advice.
