Lol. How about, "I followed Clevername down a rabbit trail and lived to tell about it."

Just kidding, friend. I don't want to scare anyone away! Merv? Are you coming?

Has anyone heard from growler lately?

Sounds like a great trip. It's just the 8 hours between Klamath Falls and your area that slows joining. hmm...

That sounds like a good trip, too, through the redwoods. Gotta love the drop top.

Enjoy!

Default Would love to join but ...

I am in an MBA program where we are having a 4 day long session that covers that weekend.

BTW, the XK8 is in the shop now getting the ding out of the front left quarter panel. Took 7 months to find the parts. Should have it out of the shop by Friday.

As an FYI, I have now placed a request for the Official JaguarFourms Banner to be shipped to me for this event!.............
Let's keep the attendee count climbing, and fingers crossed for good weekend weather!

We will also be arriving during the Autumn Leaf Festival So expect a crowd (and parade at noon). Parking may be a distance from the town center, so please anticipate dropping off your significant others downtown, and being forced to tuck our cars a safe distance (IE several blocks) away.

Rahtok, you know restaurants there.... Any you can think of big enough to support a large party (guessing 8 to 16)? Anyone else know?

Meh, we had to park way out in Timbuktu last year anyway. We'll make our own show of it. Probably the best place to go is where we went last year. It's one of the larger ones, and they have arguably the best selection of on tap beverages. Plus mangled meat in intestine and pretzels.

Agreed, the Andreas Keller is one of the better places to go to.

That's fine, I just thought we got pretty cramped back in the corner, and that was with only 7 or 8 of us.... I suspect our numbers to maybe double on this run, and don't recall that much space there....

Perhaps we can call for reservations before we depart.
I don't mind parking a little ways away to get a group of spots together.

I was thinking the same thing... But with a festival in full swing, I'm anticipating places to be quite busy.
The parade starts at 12:00, so maybe folks will be on the streets and not in the eatery's.

A for parking, we hoofed it pretty far last time... I don't mind, but courtesy says we drop our passengers off and not subject them to the distance. Was looking at shuttles as well, but they don't run for the Leaf festival, only the Oktoberfest stuff... ah well...

Well, Kudos go to Marko, who joined me on a pre-scouting expedition of this loop today.

I think those that attend will appreciate the contributions his insight provided! What more can I say but this is going to be a great drive with many stunningly beautiful stops for car-side chats and photo ops...

That said, we did learn that an early start is needed, so departure from Monroe will be around the 9am slot, putting us in Leavenworth just after noon. Two restroom stops are planned alone the way. We believe we have the parking worked out, and is closer than last time as well.
Lunch will indeed be at Andreas Keller for the group, but each of you have the option of striking out on your own, so don't feel committed.

Old Blewett is open, and Marko agrees (yea! I'm not totally off my rocker about goat paths!) all should enjoy this historic old road. It is one that will be driven at a relaxed and casual/easy pace so no car or driver will find it the least bit difficult or intimidating (Well, unless we get a low slung 220 in our group!)

As this is a Sunday run, our return to the western side will be near dinner, and we need an idea of who would be interested in closing the drive over a meal in Issaquah(ideas?), or would prefer bailing in favor of dashing home workday preparations... (Speak up folks!)

Well, I know it's adding bad food on top of bad food, but we could hit XXX in Issaquah on our way back. Always a popular car hangout spot. Alternatively, if you like good Chinese, there is actually an excellent one just up the road from XXX.

As a side note, the gas station across the street from XXX is one of the very few in the Puget Sound region that sells real gas (No Ethanol!).

I hesitate to google "XXX in Issaquah".

...

oh, that wasn't so bad. Sure. That looks great.

<chuckles> Issaquah wouldn't allow the zoning for the other kind Muddy! It's just an old drive in that sponsors a lot of car events. Usually something every weekend really. Greasy burger joint with killer shakes. They only take cash though... no cards.

We could always go to Krispy Kreme (or Boehm's Chocolates) a few blocks away for dessert. I'm just saying...
