Octoberfest 13??

Turnout will suffer if we have to reschedule, so one-way-or-another... Downpour would not be fun but rain here seems to be mostly spotty and intermittent. It even cleared up for he Seahawks to play after the thunderstorms the other night. So I wouldn't cancel for scattered showers. We are going to be out all day, so it's likely we well have some spots of inclement weather at times, here and there.

C'mon Guys, these cars were designed and built in the British Midlands, and used extensively across northern Europe and to cross the Alps all through the year, are you seriously that afraid to take them out in the rain or worse? No weather we have is as severe as what these are designed to thrive on on a daily basis. My wipers and lights work well and the roof doesn't leak, I'll bet that's true for each of us. It cracks me up how much Los Angelenos and other southern types move here and then let weather dictate so strongly to them how to live their lives. Natives pay little attention to the weather, they just go do what they planned to do, barring exceptional occurrences. Unless we are expecting a typhoon or hurricane, let's go do it. Getting all four seasons was one of the best parts of last year's drive.

A benefit of driving the XKR in the rain is getting a less-obstructed view of the bonnet. Still don't understand why the wipers need to feature so prominently in the forward view.
Wish we could join you on this run. Maybe in the spring.
Enjoy

Well,
7 days to go!
Current count is 12 cars..........And if any of you are sitting on the fence, I hope you give it some thought and join us! This could be a highlight event for the year! So speak up and sign up!
Feel free to post questions, or PM me!
Those attending, please print out and read the attached Drivers Handout(Leavenworth.pdf). (Special thanks go to Muddydog for helping put it together!)

Speaking of Marko,
Special thanks also go out to him as well for volunteering to Co-Chair the event!
As he is familure with the full route including stops, he would become your guide in the event I get ill, or other such bad news (I am on call 24/7/365).
I know all will help out regardless, but it is good to have backup!
Couple house cleaning questions:
Trying to get a rough count for lunch.
We have a possible 12 cars, how many of you bringing passengers?
Big difference alerting the resturant of 12 people vs 24+....
Next, leaving Leavonworth we pass a large fruitstand/market near the hwy2/97 interchange. Do we have anyone wanting a short 10 minute stop there to buy anything? (we normall go by it, but the drive is flexable enough for a few quick side trips, so speak up!)

Lets work on one other option... Parting dinner?
Assume we arrive in Issaquah at 6PM, (we have had a VERY log day). Do we hang for a parting meal, or do we scamper for home?
So far I have heard of a few places to eat... So if interested, vote for your choice!
1.) Head for home (
2.) Stans BBQ 1 Vote (Clever
3.) XXX Hamburgers 3 Votes (eieio, swimref, muddydog
4.) Chinese (
5.) ???? (
BTW, Weather not looking happy happy happy so far....

Head count for Leavenworth is kinda moot now.... I have alerted Andrea Keller to a group from 8 to 24... They indicate no problem, and ask we call with a accurate count that day...
