So we're one week out, everybody! Weather is still looking fair for Saturday. For those of you who haven't driven with us before, welcome! This drive should have a little something for everybody, with some leisurely bends, some spirited corners, some great scenery and lively camaraderie.
Since we still have some time I thought I'd mention that If you don't have FRS radios already, we use these little walkie-talkies to communicate along the way. I bought my set at Best Buy for about $50, but they had both cheaper and more expensive models available, too. If you don't have one on the day of the drive, someone will loan you a spare, so don't let that stop you. But consider investing in a set; they come in handy.

Thanks Jim!
To clarify the confusion on start times (Thanks for pointing it out, Swimref! My fault for not being clear), we will DEPART the rest area at 9:30. So show up between 9:00-9:15. I'll try and be there by 9:00 and if some of us rendezvous in Lynnwood first it will just be for the purpose of driving together to our start point, so if we miss each other we all know where we should be by 9:00-9:15!
Washington State Department of Transportation Rest Area: Smokey Point
Arlington, WA 98223

This is mile-marker 207 on Northbound I-5
Eat breakfast before you come. Lunch is planned around 11:00. Come with a full tank of gas!

What boat are you and I on Muddy? 7:05 or 7:55? 7:55 would put us at Lynnwood Jaguar around 8:45... 7:05 would put us there around 7:50?
The run from Lynnwood Jaguar to the rest area about 30 minutes, so with Muddys schedule in mind, departure from Lynnwood must be near 8:30... Maybe plan your meetup at Lynnwood NLT 8:15?
Here is the timeline I hammered out, but it is all based on google maps, and an 'approximation' at best... now that Muddy has driven parts of it I'm sure there are areas of refinement he may know more about that the google stuff...

Sorry bout the above post...Just found a PM from Muddy... Looks like the start point for the drive is the Rest Stop outside Arlington, which means Muddy will be heading directly there from the boat.
How many of you are thinking of meeting in Lynnwood? We need someone to step up and rally the troups at the dealership. Just to lead a caravan to the rest area.... Volunteers?
If I read right it looks like
1.) (XJDanny?)
2.) KenAdamson
3.) Bob.jagman
4.) (Marko?)
5.) (Rahul?)

Well hopefully we'll get some sunshine for the drive. Just a couple of housekeeping items left in prep:
1) There is a $5 Forest Pass required to park at Artist Point. These are available at the Services Center just east of Glacier, WA (on our way). We were planning on stopping there anyway.
2) It will likely be COLD at the summit! Wear a coat and have some boots if you want to go tromping through the snow. If there's snow. I don't know what to expect, actually. It's an adventure! But come prepared.

^Thanks Muddy,
For clarification:
Mt Baker is a National Forest, so those of you with National Park (America the Beautiful) passes can present them for access at no charge.
Those of you with State Park (Discover) passes will require the day pass.
Just an FYI

Wow... 70+ degrees and sunny.....
If that is not enough to convice any stragglers to grab the family, toss-em in the Jag and head for clean fresh mountain air with your fellow Jag owners, then i worry that there just may not be any hope for ya!
I suspect the only thing about this drive you will regret is if you didn't go!
