Thanks Jim...taking it upon myself seems to be the only way this is going to happen. The biggest hurdle I am finding is spreading the word. But I do it daily and won't quit!

Please help as you are and let me re-post the flyer often. I would love to have a strong Jaguar group present. I don't own one at the time but it is certainly one of my favorites, definitely the best looking car ever manufactured.

Come on members from Texas! Grab your Jaguar forums banner and show up in force!! (see flyer on my previous post)

Just got back from JRSJR's show. I took my Impala since my wife needs her Jag to show customers some new houses.

Let me know when and where all the Jag folks will be and I'll try to be there with our VDP.

Thanks,

I thought about posting a poll, but figured it would be impossible to get a consensus with everybody's differing schedules. I just posted earlier that I will plan to be at the Birdville Stadium show next Saturday night. A couple other posts seemed to like that event.

I know its hot on a parking lot this time of year, but what I like to do is get my car set up by the start of the show at 6:00pm and then retreat inside one of the adjacent fast-food restaurants to eat dinner. By the time we're through eating, the sun is a bit lower in the sky and its starting to cool off.

I tried to make it in my SL, which I've not driving since last year. I got pretty close before the car started running really hot so I thought it was smarter to run it to the radiator shop and have the radiator cleaned.

Did not get done till 2:30 pm .

Will make an effort next time and will be sure to shake my car down beforehand.

So for those of us unable to make it, how did it go? Any pictures to share?

That how the car shows I'm thinking are done. They are usually at hooters, twin peaks or something similar.

Also, this thread doesn't have to be about one meet, we can keep this on going and build a nice group here. It's never realistic to think any date would be good for everyone but over a few meets most of us will meet.

I'm in for the Birdville show. Is there a flyer about the event available? Not sure where the stadium is. I'm in southern DfW area in Ovilla\midlothian area...

I got to the Carrollton show late but did go meet at the Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant and met a few of the guys that showed up there. No Jags. That place is pretty cool. I'm definitely stealing ideas for my future shop from there. From what I heard it was 15 or so cars but it was the first meet so maybe more in the future. I will be at Birdville unless it rains. You guys can still use my cell number, listed previously, as a point of contact for where we park. I will try to be there around 6.

Thanks for the website to the Birdville group! By the pictures looks like they get a great turnout each month. Lots of classic cars and hot rods! Not sure if I should even attend with my jag! It's a 2013 XF. Will anyone even be interested at looking at a new car?

I made it to the Carrolloton meet a bit late in my jag but there were only about 10 cars there and no Jags.

Yes, that's right! Here's another opportunity: We do live jazz every 1st and 3rd Sunday at our winery. This Sunday, July 21st, is our next one. We normally charge $10 admission, and I'd like to offer *free admission* to any Jag enthusiasts (and their guests/partners/spouses/etc.) that want to attend. Three hours of live music from 4 - 7. The kitchen serves lunch from 12 - 6. I will reserve a table for Jag folks. The parking lot is packed gravel with lots of trees, so some opportunity for shade. Plenty of opportunity to stroll around and admire eachother's rides.
We are on the far NW side of the FW area, about a fifteen minute drive from downtown FW on good roads. Check out our place at LightCatcher Home.
If this one doesn't work for you, we'll do another one. Let me know if you can come! Cheers.

There's usually no shortage of late model Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers and Corvettes there and lately somebody's been bringing a brand new VW Beetle. I guess its not unusual for people to want to show off their brand new cars as I've seen temporary paper dealer tags. There's also parking outside the show area if anyone wants to come and just hang out for a short while.
