Jag Mechanic in the L.A. area?

Ah, my west coast homies, the only sane people in the country. It's this time of year when we're handsomely rewarded for being justa whole lot smarter than the rest of the country. C'mon, you only have to move once, but shoveling 8 feet of snow and not feeling your face is forever. I'm cold and it's only 68 degrees outside - I don't know how they do it.
Anyways, do any of you know of a decent and reasonably-priced Jag mechanic in the San Gabiel Valley area? I know of a Bob Cutler Jag Service in Pasadena, but that's it. Any other recommendations?
Thanks a bunch!

Sorry, I don't have any recommendations. But, thanks for the reference to the shop in Pasadena. I live in Long Beach and am looking for an independent service shop in LA/Orange county. (My XK8 just went out of warranty and I'm not inclinded to pay dealership prices for service.)

I'm still hopefully a prospective future buyer (read my travails elsewhere on the forum if interested). Anyway, in anticipation of owning, I found 3 independent shops in my local area (Sherman Oaks and Encino, San Fernando Valley). I do not have the names handy right now but the locations are Van Nuys Boulevard near 101 Freeway, Ventura Boulevard at Haskell, Ventura Boulevard west of White Oak. There a also a few other independent shops I see on Ventura Boulevard on my daily commute. If these are not too inconvenient for you, I can dig up the names and numbers.

I recently had the lower control arms and timing mechanism job done by British Eurotech in Lawndale. I think the price was fair, from what I have read. They were prompt and Nigel seems to be a straight up guy.
Nice waiting area, friendly staff, it was a fairly painless experience I found them on Yelp with 2 recommendations so gave them a shot.
They are right off the 405 fwy at Inglewood Ave.
FWIW...

Jagkiqng,
I own a 2000 XJ8 and 2008 LR2. How do you handle service requests? The XJ8 has had several repairs to fix a slow coolant leak with no success. Rails and radiator lines have been replaced. Had the chain tensioner done at the same time. Andrew in WLA

I have a 2000 XJ8, 2008 LR2 and a 2010 XF. I use Hornburg for warranty service and oil changes and then track down independent shops for the big jobs (XJ8 only since LR2 and XF are under warranty).
I have heard good things about Just Jaguar at 4744 Woodman Avenue in Sherman Oaks. www.justjaguar.com but their estimates (at least on the transmission) seem just as high as going to the dealer. So when I had the trans bell housing issue I went to an independent transmission shop and they seem to have done it right. Same for when the coolant rails leaked. I found a laid off Hornburg mechanic to take care of that and update the timing chain tensioners which are made out of some plastic like material and prone to break. He fixed both of those items for half the price of the dealer. But it's a pain to use him as he works out of his house near La Canada.
But the XJ8 still seems to be loosing coolant and the coolant sensor probably needs replacement as I broke the sensor's clip when I was trying to take it off and put it back on to rule out a false postive. So I think it tends to disconnect - I used a security band but not sure how effective it is.
Any suggestions on a shop near West Los Angeles? Andrew

I just got my jag, and the first place I drove it someone came out and talked to me about it. We had a nice hour long conversation about his jags and he said if I ever (when) needed a mechanic to look up RMB auto in Burbank.
He says the rates are reasonable and if they ever stopped working on Jags he would stop buying them.

I have a 1999 XJ8. It's a great ride, but is sitting in my garage motionless because it needs a new TB (and I don't want to pay dealer prices for the fix).
I would like to replace the TB with a used/reconditioned one - and am looking for someone who knows what they are doing.
Joolz: I didn't know there was such a thing as a "mobile" Jag mechanic. If he's in LA, PLEASE put me in touch!
Thanks in advance!
