Hey Jaggy, I am trying a new small shop mechanic in Fremont. He and his wife run a very small shop, but he comes recommended. Will let you know what I learn from him. Seems to be a Jaguar purist. We will see. I have been taking my XK8 to ACME in Hayward. They are pretty good, but I ran into some issues with them and so decided to seek a new mechanic. My issues with ACME were that A) I was treated like a second class citizen to the Rolls and Bentley owners, and they also had difficulty getting some mechanical stuff done correctly. But, for simple stuff, they would be fine.

Try unconnecting the battery in your 'boot' for a few mininutes then reconnecting as you might need to reset your computer. Also, check your fuses just to make sure nothing has blown. If that doesn't work then take your Jag to your nearest, trusted mechanic and/or ford dealership and they should be able to diagnose/fix the issue.

RE: Bay Area Jaguar Mechanics
Hey Tufguysf, Let me know how your small shop in Fremont works out. I prefer good independent guys over the corporate shops.
Jaggy, I use to bring my cars over to San Jose British Motors and have always had good luck with them. I have since moved over the hill and am now bringing my cars in to the Livermore Jaguar Dealer off I-580. The service there has also been pretty good.

man, I tried them once and would NEVER go back there again. they have no problem charging as much time as they can and doing as little as possible. complain to the Service Manager and he just says there is nothing he can do because it is a union shop. Be VERY careful or just stay away from these guys.
