Thinking about a checkup for '06 XJ8, any recommendations in SoCal?
I got a 2006 XJ8, 70k miles last year. I've been driving it for about 7 months now, and I'm thinking about having a mechanic do a checkup. There's no problem, but I'm aware of the age of the car and want to get in front of any potential issues.
British Eurotech seems to be the highest rated shop near me:
British Eurotech - Lawndale, CA
Any other recommendations? How much does this sort of thing usually cost?

Welcome to the forum hixton,
(I've edited the '60' to '06' in your thread title)
Good to hear your XJ8 is proving reliable.
That question on local shops is probably best asked in the X350 tech section or the US Western Region section. I can move the post for you if you want.
When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST section and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice on posting to the forum.

I also recently met Bob Cutler, the owner of Bob Cutler Jaguar. A nice old school style shop. Bob has been there for 35 years. I haven't done any work at his shop but he seemed like a very good person to deal with.
Perhaps these are out of the way for you but its always good to know they exist. A basic inspection should run close to $100. If you want to run a full compression and diagnostic test, that will be quite a bit more.
You can also go to your car's respective section in this forum. I'm sure you'll be able to obtain information on common issues requiring attention. Since your car is a 2006, I'd recommend getting an OBD II scanner that would help you identify any codes that would pop up. This will help you in understanding your car better and facilitate better communication with your service tech.

I've known them for a 2.5 years.
Some time ago I drove from SF to HB just to get their opinion about an issue I had.
Recommend!
