Octoberfest 13??

Octoberfest 13??
OK, so despite the crazy snow last year, I'm totally down to do it again this year. However, I can't do the first weekend in October -- it's the (believe it or not) Lego Convention downtown, and I'm part of the muscle behind the show. Also, I'd vote for it to not be the last weekend in October due to it being both the Halloween parties and late in the season. What about October 12 or 13?

We could do Sept 28 or 29. I'd vote to NOT reverse the route. Snoqualmie is still likely to be better taken care of in the event of crazy weather. What we probably SHOULDN'T have done is stop for DQ last time. /chuckle Especially as it looked iffy. Regardless, we all got home safe, and it wasn't hairy enough to scare me from doing it again.

As far as the drive goes, I could do the 12th as well... But first choice is the 28th, second is the 29th, and third is the 12th...
(And yes, if weather is good I would like to consider Old Blewett Pass. It is paved(kinda), and can be safely driven slow!) Very scenic up there!)

I can't make Sept. 28, but the 29th is open. Oct. 19th is my next opportunity. I really don't want to miss this one. Old Blewett sounds adventurous and might be fun, but even "new Blewett" (which actually crosses Swauk Pass a few miles away from Blewett Pass) is a fun road we greatly enjoyed last year. Lunch in Leavenworth again is a must.

Right now it looks like the 29th is winning....
Should we call it?
I think the 12th or 19th of Oct would be a good safety if weather on the 29th fails....

Donuts negotiable?
Let me check the book on that one.........Ah.... no.... no they're not..
Anyhow glad to have you here Merv, and you are most welcome on any drive or gathering.
Our Pacific Northwest crew is still small and slowly growing. We have no "formal" process to just about anything we do.... Just several enthusiastic Jag owners that meet and drive....
Most times we try to roughly plan an event, yet flexibility has proven valuable because our plans don't always work.... well..... as planned.... Seems we all still have a great time amongst great company and great cars.
Our Leavenworth run will be our second, and I suspect similar to last years.
We meet in the morning for coffee and ...donuts.... Last time it was in Monroe. We then take Highway 2 across Stevens Pass to Leavenworth for Brats and a pint for lunch. After a short visit of the town, we return via Highway 97 and I-90 to the western side of the mountains where we can maybe discuss a parting dinner.
If time allows, I have a goat path to take you all on!

I would love to drive Old Blewett, which was closed due to the big fires last time. The route is paved, scenic and historically interesting, but would require a casual and relaxed pace due to the brush encroachment and occasional rocks in the roadway. I certainly enjoyed it and had no difficulty navigating the Jag along the whole route.
