Default Snow Tires on XJR

Bought a 2005 XJR the other day, and have not heard one good thing about the all season Perelli P6's on the factory 19" rims.

I can get a set of 18" rims fairly cheap, can I use Bridgestone Blizzaks in a 245/50/18 without an issue? If I reaseached correctly that should be a plus zero size. any experts can you confirm or advise before I make a purchase?

Mike Im in the same boat, Just bought an 04 XJR. From what I have researched, you need an 18x8.5" deep rim to clear the brembos, kinda a PITA to find, I thought about getting salvaged rims from car-part.com but for the amount id spend on 18" rims, I can just get some Blizzak's for the 19's for under $300/each mounted. those are 245/40/19
Let me know if you find anything different in your research

are rims from a regular 05 xj8 18 x 8.5? i can get a set of rims for under $500 and the tires would only cost me about $700

from what I have found no, they are only 18x8"
apparently the rims from the new XF will fit though

I get why you can't go below 18" diameter, but why does the wheel width matter for clearing the brakes?
