Tire review link
#2
I know it's an older thread, but the videos were interesting! I've now subscribed to that channel and I'm going to have a dig through his older videos to see if he has some reviews of some other tires I'm considering.
I have had good experiences with the Michelin tires I've used, they have grip as good as the "track guy typical" street tires (e.g. Hankook RS-3 and Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric; not the hardcore stuff like Yokohama Advan AD08R, I'd wager that's more like a Cup 2) but they still maintain a decent ride and are much quieter, which is a significant factor in something like a 2005 Subaru STi, which has virtually no sound deadening!
I don't think I'll be using something like that for the XJ-S, though... even though it hasn't even arrived yet , I'm planning on swapping to a different set of wheels, which will naturally need tires to go with them. It's not a car that's going to be blasting down mountain roads or going to track days (or at least, not its primary purpose), so I think I'll go with something a step down in performance in order to have comfort/ride as a secondary priority.
