I just fitted some Michelin Pilot Super Sports.
These are a revelation and transformation:
The grip in the wet and dry is amazing.
Before I had Toyo tyres, and I would slide/drift out of my drive, catch the drift and go the other way.
With these new Michelins, it's very difficult to break traction at all.
I try to do a 'tank slapper' and it's nigh on impossible. I think it's time for MORE POWER!

I have Continental Extreme Contact Sports on my 5.0L mustang and they are excellent in the dry and wet and I've even done track days with them and they are very predictable. They don't like temps below 3 degree C, however and say right on them not to drive them when its cold.
I have a set of 18X8 Pentas and have the same dilemma of what tires to buy. I'm leaning towards the Conti's but the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's are over $50 cheaper per tire and have excellent reviews, so I may try them.
