Default Another X-Type grille alternative here

Just found this while browsing:
Jaguar X-Type 3.0 V6 4x4 als Limousine in Bruchsal

I'd still prefer the facelift grille though while on topic, apparently the Adamesh aftermarket grille has a different mesh than the Mina one?

makes for too big of a hole for me on the front. I am sure it is hell on the mileage too since you are now letting a lot more air flow through the engine bay, leading to lots more drag on the car. Granted, could be good for those people that live in hot climates (100+F for a good part of the year).

The one Adamesh sells is 100% original OEM Jaguar from the very last X-Types 2008/2009 facelift model which never made it to America.

I've got one on my X-Type, bought from Adamesh, believe me it's 100% OEM.

No impressed with that one with the Karlsruhe plates on it, looks like a Mad Max bush-basher!

To be honest, I think the one I linked is horrid. That grille (or lack of), combined with those black steel wheels and carbon fibre stickers on the mouldings...indeed, it fits the Mad Max universe nicely

So the Mina grille has a more dense mesh? Now that I think, exexpats X has that denser mesh.

Default Alternative badge.

I may be on my own here, but I actually prefer the mark 1 type grille with a wire mesh. I'm not that keen on the gaping grille from 08 onwards. That said, exepats is still by far the best looking car. I think that grille looks better with the fine mesh.

I'm not fond of the Jaguar head as a logo and prefer the retro jag badge with wings. So I had one made for £20.47 delivered in the uk.

There's a picture attached of it on the car for those who are interested. Also attached is a gif of the design i sent to them if you want one made. Can't be much more to send to usa.

Mine was about 10cm across and 4cm high.

Its a chrome look background with a clear domed skin, so it's not as robust looking up close as a chrome badge, but I prefer the look overall.

jonesy1974xtype, i REALLY like that. I think it looks amazing. Especially since the hood leaper is gone too. Very retro looking. Adds even more class to the car.

But in the picture you provided there doesnt seem to be much depth to the badge. It kinda looks like just a vinyl sticker you put on there. Imho, I would have added some more depth to the design. Make it look at least as much "3d" as the OEM growler.

Yeh, I looked into the metal badges. Most people who have em seem to be collectors so they dont come up for sale very often at that jag auction website associated to the image. They seem to go for about $200-$300 dollars. Plus they are generally designed for very rounded nosed cars and I think it may be difficult to get one which lends itself to the x type. Trying to make it fit could and probably would damage the enamel type inlays.

The only other way would be to have some reproduced for the x type specifically, but you usually need to get at least a hundred orders before any manufacturers would consider the tooling.

Here's and example of such a manufacture.

MBC Badges: Specialist UK supplier of enamel, embroidered, woven and name badges

I'm sure plenty of people would be interested, but who'd want to handle the dosh and mither? Or put the dosh up front to someone you only know via a forum. However if it's only £20 a pop maybe people would risk it for a nice car badge. But we would run the risk of someone making of with £2000 if 100 people put in.

Unless a manufacturer would want to make the product out of their own budget, but a lot of people would have to show interest.

If anyone is interested in the badge I had produced, this is the website.

Wahooh. finally found this badge randomly on ebay and bought it off a guy in Germany. No idea where he got it.

Think I only need to refurbish my alloys and fit my BMI interior and I'm done.

Decided not to Murder out the Jag completely following Jez's advice. Still undecided whether or not to fit the side vents similar to his.

I have a pair ready to fit, but as mine's only a 2.2D feel like I'm overselling it's power.

Any thoughts?

Dennis. How come you've not got your entire car in the frame, but managed to get the dogs rear in there?
