Jaguar 3.0/Lincoln LS engine swap update...
Well I finished my 2002 X a little over a week ago and to let everyone know, ALL IS WELL LOL.
When we finished the car and did the initial startup, she fired right up on the first try. Sounded real smooth and I was pretty much the happiest guy on earth at that time, still am. Again, overall, was a pretty easy swap but the whole process took some time. Most of it bein that I had work and school and a lot goin on. But my buddy that owns the shop did most of the takin out and puttin in part of it, which is what I was basically payin him for.
The only problem im havin is when I drained the TC and refilled, im pretty sure I may have overfilled it or something. Im always gettin a pretty potent smell when driving and after I get out of the car. While driving I can smell it but when I turn on the heat, holy sh*t! Im goin to the shop tomorrow to look at everything again and check for leaks and whatnot, even tho I have seen nothing on the ground.
Long story short...I think its more than safe to say, if anyone is in need of a engine swap, this is definately the route to take. Again, if anyone needs advise on anything at all for the swap, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks for your help also guys!!!

If its only thatsmall of a difference and its the same block I would be guessing the LS has a bigger intake, injectors and higher flow fuel pump...but only slightly bigger.
They would have a different tune, going to guess it has to do with the awd vs rwd.
What is the hp of the S type? That uses the 3.0L and is rwd...its probably the same specs as the LS

I'm assuming the Denso VCT was carried over from the original X type rather than the P tech Ford stuff?
The cam profiles on the Lincoln LS 6 and the Jaguar S type and the X type are the same- that is 246 duration on the intake and 249 duration on the exhaust.
The ports are about the same except the Lincoln stuff was cast over here in the US and is of poorer quality and the castings often exhibit some core shift.
The single exhaust of in the X type installation near the prop shaft also loses it of some low speed torque.

Lincoln LS swap help
My husband is doing the swap like others on this site. He's come up against the problem of removing the water outlet. Does he have to remove the head to do this? I saw one post saying bust it out. He can't get to the bolt. He removed the head on the jag engine but doesn't want to remove the head and get new gasket and bolts for the lincoln. Help please
