good morning jag family. I'm have an issue with my sunroof. I've read the other forums about this issue with no luck. so maybe i can get some more insite.
My sunroof was constantly needing recalibration. Till yesterday when i noticed that it wasn't open all the way. So i closed it with the 'one-touch' feature, right at the point it was to close, it reopened like something was preventing it from closing. Now i cant recalibrate it using the method posted in previous forums. it just seems all out of sync. Will removing the battery reset it? b/c the 'DEALER' said they will have to hook it up to their computer. AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEAN .. vaseline anyone
So if someone with a little more know how Help me out. I'll greatly appreciate it.
it's a 04

time for a reset
1. press the forward button to tip the sunroof open, after it opens release the button.
2. press the forward button again and hold it until the sunroof moves. It won't move much, just a small budge, sometimes takes 20 seconds then release the button.
3. immediately press and hold the forward button yet again and again sometimes takes 20 seconds, sometimes it begins the cycle right away. Wait for the sunroof to do the full cycle, it'll tip down then open all the way and then close and stop. Release the button and you're done.

I am still amazed that after all these posts on the same issue:
1) You could not find it by searching
2) Still even sidewalkman's instruction dont acknowledge that the forward/back button has 4 positions
3) And that you were able to do it without wondering which of the 4 positions he was referring to.
This world of "hammer away on the buttons until it works" is hard for the engineering crowd to deal with!
