Pressing the button on the end of the turn signal stalk cycles through the various options. I've attached the relevant pages from the owner's manual.

The full manual can be found at TOPIx - TOPIx

I'm no expert, but the first thing I would do is a hard reset (remove negative terminal from battery and touch it to the positive terminal for several seconds). That should cause the computers to reboot and clear any possible bad data that is causing the problem. Then see where you stand. The A/B switch won't do anything until you get into trip mode. The only switch appears to be the button in the end of the stalk.
Possible causes: Corrosion at connectors; corrosion at ground; broken switch.

I have never herd of touching the neg to pos battery cable, that just sounds so bad...lol...did I read that correctly? IS there a diagram of taking the stalk apart to check switch and connections?
